Tub of Sour Cream

You can eat it …. with as spoon =)

But otherwise it’s a great addition to literally anything you can cook.

Sauteed veggies in butter + sour crean
Eggs w/ Cream Cheese + sour cream
Any sauce + sour cream

I could go on, but you get my drift… it’s good on anything.

It’s delicious with guac or avocados. I typically mix it in with plain avocado slices and put some salt on it. Goes with everything.

Consider making beef stroganoff without the noodles.

Sirloin and mushrooms are extra delicious when they’re swimming in sour cream (with just a tiny bit of Worcestershire sauce–kept to a minimum because of the molasses, of course).

If it’s not too far gone you can stir in some vinegar to extend it’s useful life.

Is the date on the sour cream a “Sell By” date or a “Use By” date? Either way it is not an expiration date. Food doesn’t magically go bad because it is past some date.

As long as you keep it nice and cold it will last for quite a while. You can usually tell if it is bad by smelling it and looking at it.

Pork Rinds and sour cream, only 10% protein

(Jennifer) #9

I would make a dip/ dressing and add it to everything. Lots of recipes out there in Google land.

(Jane Reed) #10

Add it to pan drippings for a rich gravy.

(KetoCowboy) #11

Good suggestion. Mixing some low-carb hot sauce with the sour cream aint all bad either.

When sour cream goes bad does it go good? (My husband stole that line from some comedian).

How about a low carb cheesecake?

#13

Eat it like yogurt, and/or add a dollop to ever meal.

Here are a few recipes from the forum…this should keep you busy :grinning:

That is a great idea, I always need a good way to get more avocados in my diet.

Great idea, I haven’t had a good Stroganoff in a long time! I wonder how it would be with Cauliflower

That is very true… but dariy is one of those things that I am always a little weary of, but I agree with you completely, I keep lots of things after[quote=“janknitz, post:12, topic:12880”]

That is a good idea, that may have to be on the menu this week

That is what I have been doing this week, but its not going fast, lol – That is a great list, thank you Fiorella!

Dominic D’Agostino’s Keto Ice Cream can be (and it’s how I make it) made with sour cream:

Keto Ice Cream: 100 grams of fat
1-2 cups of sour/coconut cream (Strauss Creamery)
1 tablespoon of dark chocolate baking cocoa
A pinch of salt
A little Stevia
Cinnamon
1 tablespoon of coconut oil drizzled over
Optional: blue berries
Heavy cream as a topping

and add jalapeno slices or franks red hot, yum…

This sounds yummy! Confusing recipe though. Does this mean 1 OR 2 cups of sour cream? Which is it, 1 cup or 2 cups?

Scallions, mushrooms, green pepper, and garlic are all great additions to Stroganoff.

(Leslie) #19

Omg! That’s the best reply I have ever wanted to eat!

I love my blue cheese dressing

Blue cheese, enough to make the combination chunky
Sour cream, enough to make the combination creamy
Homemade mayonnaise, enough to make the combination thick and zesty

Yummy!

Taco Tuesday! And Wednesday… and Thursday… and Friday :joy:
