Everything breaks eventually.
I don’t have an Anova, but ultimately, they all work as well. I love my Joule, but you do have to sync it to your phone with bluetooth in order to cook with it.

Yeah, that’s what I read. Thanks for clarifying. That’s the deal breaker for me and the Joule. Where I’m at, sometimes cell/WiFi is intermittent.
The Anova has wifi and/or Bluetooth but I would rather just set it on the device.
@MissyMe you don’t need wifi or cellular for bluetooth if that is your concern.
Very difficult to crisp the bacon without drying out the chicken. I might try parcook of the bacon to the stage where it is in your picture, then wrapping and searing.
But I’d probably sous vide the chicken and shock ahead of wrapping.
I’d never even heard of sous vide before this forum but so many rave about it I may have to get one.
@MissyMe, like @matt, I’ve never had any issues with it shutting off. I’ve only had it a few months but it’s been on nearly the whole time I’ve had it. As soon as something is done cooking I throw something else in. I did the Bluetooth version (cheaper one). I didn’t see the need to operate it while away from home.
The app is handy, but you can turn it on and set the temp without using it.
@matt the Bluetooth option flew right over my head with that one. Regardless, it bothers me that I need my phone to run the Joule. For that price, IMO, should have a manual option.
@Baytowvin looks like I have more reading to do. I didn’t know Anova offered 2 options. Cheaper always sounds better, especially if the results are the same.
Feast before Zornfast.
Anybody else notice raw almond butter is a lot stickier than roasted almond butter?
Norweian cod “breaded” with almond meal and parmesan with sriracha mayo, and green beans sauteed in garlic and olive oil.
Now this is a damn fine looking meal! We should all be posting ketoaide pics…at least until I break my fast.
Oh my. Pork God on high.
Pork rind pancakes (@Brenda recipe) smothered with the sugar free cherry jello Marscapone mousse I made. Whoa.
I just got a job after 18 months off looking after my parents and licking my wounds, so I thought I’d celebrate with my first Keto ribeye with fried Brussels sprouts. I could only manage the bone-in half so I guess I’m not starting the Zorn fest tonight
