What did you Keto today? Part Deux!

(Hyperbole- best thing in the universe!) #4723

Ok, thank you for not only eating, but displaying, a substantive amount of bacon! I usually buy 180 gram packs, cause that’s what I can get, and you bet your booty that is one serving. It is not for sharing. And I’d eat more if I could afford it. I do not understand this whole “two slices of bacon” concept.

(squirrel-kissing paper tamer) #4724

Ha! I ate every single piece and wasn’t stuffed. I am a morning eater, for sure. I don’t understand how folks wait until noon to eat, I would eat my fingers. The whole time I was giving thanks that the housemate was up late drinking and hoping he would not come up from his den before I could hurry up and fry this bacon and escape with it because I most certainly did not want to share even one piece.

#4725

New motto: “Bacon, it’s not for sharing.”

(squirrel-kissing paper tamer) #4726

Darren, it’s seriously not.

Woke up hungry as heck this morning, normally I like to eat around 1 (I usually don’t feel like eating until then, eating early usually makes me nauseous. I think I might be lucky that way because it makes eating 16/8 relatively easy for me). I gave in and made a super protein breakfast. I have started making a drink of organic plain grass fed whey protein isolate, a teaspoonful of high quality cocoa powder, a shake of cinnamon, and a couple of drops of vanilla, all shaken with unsweetened coconut milk. I found out I can’t do premade protein shakes regardless of the carb count, The artificial sweeteners make me feel weird.
I was concerned about being so hungry this early but then I looked at what point in my lady calendar I’m in and I immediately understood why I want to eat all the food, everywhere. :plate_with_cutlery: Pleasantly full now.

@Acnickel, are those actual sausages? :eyes:

#4729

They are soy sausages, 1/2 a net carb a piece and one of my favorites. I feed them to people all the time and they can’t tell they aren’t pork lol

#4730

Whew! For a minute there I thought you might be turning.

They sure look good though. :yum:

Today is apparently a feasting day; 1st lunch tuna & salad.

2nd lunch bacon cheeseburger.

Not sure yet what dinner will be.

#4732

Appetizer before a mid-day meal… Egg-Salad wrapped in Ham.

Then Eggs, Bacon and a Knockwurst. … Someone broke an egg putting it on the plate, but I won’t mention any names.

(Steaks b4 cakes! 🥩🥂) #4733

Sirloin for dinner tonight! With broccoli, mushrooms and a bit of Roquefort cheese. I have a confession to make…the steak was massive so I cut some off and saved it for lunch tomorrow! :joy: I knew I wouldn’t be able to eat it all!

(Full Metal KETO AF) #4734

I just want to say as an admitted foodie this is my favorite thread on the forum. I read and comment in lots of threads but this is the first place I go when I get to the site. Do you know why? It’s because all the science is incredibly interesting but the keto thing is about lifestyle.

That means day to day life and not getting into a rut with your diet and getting bored. I have gotten much inspiration from all of you whether you’re keeping it simple or going all out in the kitchen. It’s inspiring and beautiful. I pretty much  every post where people take the time and pride in their food to photo and share the love with others for inspiration in keeping keto eating interesting. So thank you all.

Sheep chop. It was SOOOOO GOOD!

Pardon the hoisin sauce in the background. Didn’t get a pic of the duck before I scarfed it down. Was crispy and delicious.

My 1st fathead pizza! Omg, I have found my favorite keto pizza dough, and I gave tried a few!!!

#4737

Good, ain’t it! … Keep in mind a lot of folks liking using the FatHead Pizza dough to make other stuff too. I’ve used it for making a type of Calzones, as well as Sausage and Cheese, breakfast wrap of sorts. Works very well indeed.

Tonight’s dinner… Pickles & Olives on the side, Boneless BBQ Country Style Pork Ribs, Country Steak , Fried Radishes and a new Deviled Eggs I tried. (Tuna infused, overstuffed Deviled Eggs) Also had a few Brazil Nuts and 2 squares of the 92% Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate. (Since I plan to cut out some of these things here shortly, I had some tonight.) Mainly going to try cutting out Dairy, Nuts and Chocolate.

Note: I gave the pups a nice bite each of the steak, and only ate half the Country Style Ribs. So I have the half steak from last night and have of this from tonight. So I will probably take those out tomorrow.

#4739

Lunch was egg salad made with mayo and a full avocado. Garlic salt, loads of pepper (any pepper lovers here?), cayenne, turmeric, and smoked paprika.

Yummmm! Also, I love this thread. Gives me great ideas for meal prepping

#4740

Do you just fry your radishes in butter? I got some today to cook or roast, I’ve only had them raw until now but wanted to do something new

#4741

I experimented with cracker recipes today, these are made with almond flour and flax. They are pretty good. Made a sort of picky bits platter with a veggie burger. Having a hungry day today but still great on the carb count

#4742

First, your plate above looks great. Nice assortment, and I too want to try making some crackers soon.

Yep, tonight the wife just fried them up in butter. But we have done them a few times in with a Roast, in the slow cooker. They come out really good, and are somewhat close to potatoes, so they make a good replacement for this. … Try experimenting with them and I think you will like the results.

I also made Radish-Au-Gratin a while back and it came out pretty good. If the link works properly below, you can check it out in a Recipe thread I have.
