I know "too much protein" isn't a thing on carnivore. Is "not enough fat" a thing on carnivore?

#41

so agree.
fowl is not a good carnivore meat for healing, good fat content etc.
I only eat it as a change up. I know when chicken has to leave and beef take over

#42

Do you drink water with or just after your meals? This can cause problems. Also, with ground beef liquid fat gives me trouble.
Just some thoughts.

I drink all during the day. Maybe ground beef liquid fat that just doesn’t agree with me. Tomorrow - ribeye!

I don’t drink the drippings from the pan unless it’s a tiny bit off a steak. I do make a very large burgers and I poke a hole through the center so they cook quickly and I cook them rare. That way they don’t lose a lot of fat

(traci simpson) #45

Oh no, I don’t drink it but I kinda can’t help eating it with the meat.

(Edith) #46

Where is this? I would love to check it out.

(Edith) #47

It may not apply to you, but I mentioned on another thread to another recent carnivore convert that maybe you are having symptoms of oxalate dumping.

Check out: https://sallyknorton.com/

She is an authority on oxalates.

Here is a podcast she was on, as well.

@Fangs That’s surprisingly how I felt about the chicken I ate yesterday. I was really surprised. It didn’t get me the kick that beef or pork does. So it has been tested and moved to my ā€œchange upā€ menu also.

Link please?

In Dale City in Ashdale plaza next door to the Salvation Army. La Azteca is the name of the store.

(traci simpson) #51

Are you in Virginia? it’s not an online product.

(traci simpson) #52

Thanks. I’m listening to it now.

#53

Oh okay. No I’m in Missouri and I’m jealous, lol.

(Edith) #54

Yeah, I’m lucky. Traci and I don’t live that far from each other. We even met for lunch once.

#55

this is rarer in that I use the very lean hamburger. I hate hamburger fat. A lot of people do the fatty burger…I go very lean. I buy like 93/7 or 85/15 cause even 80/20 is too liquid fatty for me. I don’t like hamburger fat one bit.

yea Renee when I do chicken it is for a change up and I eat a lot of it…2 big breasts at least fried in grass fed butter. But when I do that a bit too much I can tell my body is screaming for a ribeye or something more beefy LOL I head right to beef when I feel that way.

Yes here is why:

Over-eat red meat or any kind of meat constantly then your going to chronically spike insulin without the help of the endogenous production of glucose (gluconeogenesis) but your back to burning again sugar when you are in a state of ketosis (gluconeogenesis) when you over-eat protein increasing your risk of colon cancer without any resistant starch in your diet to prevent colon cancers.

Eating meat has nothing to do with the benefits you see with the carnivore diet, it simply because your in ketosis while doing it!

Unfortunately people don’t understand that until it’s to late and you got colon cancer from something they thought was a good idea!

70% calories of dietary fat does not equal 70% volume

(bulkbiker) #57

Blah blah blah

gluconeogenesis

blah blah blah

out of ketosis

blah blah blah

colon cancer

… more unsupported drivel

(Elizabeth ) #58

I have not seen a single clinical trial proving that red meat causes colon cancer.

#59

Sorry but 3 years of strict keto didn’t stop my hair loss, didn’t fix my bowels, didn’t clear my nasal passages and all of those issues started improving when I started the carnivore/PKD.

(Elizabeth ) #60

I got weight loss on keto but my health improvements on carnivore (not pkd) I am perfectly happy eating 2-3 ponds of meat a day  Almost 2 years now.
