April 2025 Intermittent/Extended Fasting All Welcome

(KCKO, KCFO 🥥) #1

I couldn’t find anything more recent than Feb. 2025, so here is a thread for going forwards this month.

I am continuing to just mix up OMAD and 2MAD fasts with only the occasional 3 meal days.

How are the rest of you doing these days?

FEB. 2025 Intermittent/Extended Fasting All welcome

I do OMAD on the days I have to drive to work, usually two days a week. Drive time eats 2.5-3 hours, so I skip lunch to get more work time.

I usually do TMAD (around 3-4 hour eating window?) but I am getting ready for OMAD as I overeat on TMAD as usual… Especially that I often have more carbs nowadays… I just can’t afford TMAD. And anyway, almost whenever I need to skip lunch, it’s no problem. I do get hungry at lunchtime (3pm) quite often and it’s a proper hunger but not so very severe, I surely could wait a bit more…
And now I have lots of dentist appointments and I have motivation not to eat often. It’s a bit painful. Next time I won’t be able to eat until 6pm (the dentist said I should go with a full belly… nope, I won’t eat before noon  I would get so hungry mid-afternoon! and anyway, even I can fast a little bit. I am human, not a shrew or hummingbird. or cat, looking at our pets… they want to eat all day!) so why not to get used to dinner OMAD again? It would help with my carbs too.
Oh and when I eat lunch, I often eat a very tiny dinner, it’s not convenient. A single modest but substantial meal if that makes sense (1600kcal or so) would be much better.

If I will be able to do it, I will skip the next dentist day! I am not very hopeful but I eat very well before and maybe!!! I won’t be in pain then but maybe I will still have some extra motivation…

Our dog has pretty much been doing OMAD. Sometimes, she’ll eat the 2 ounces we give her in the morning, but most times, not.

My “OMAD” is more like multiple times, as I’ll get home, eat, do something, eat a bit more.

56 hours into an EF…

One proper meal (dinner after 6pm) and some bites and drinks before and after… Maybe I will reach proper OMAD soon.

I may do that when I reach OMAD, not always but sometimes I just can’t eat enough at once, at least not using what I have planned to eat. Sure, I always can just add 100+ g fat, it’s a few bites, super easy but it may not be the best idea. And occasionally I get bored of my protein too quickly. All the available options. A break often helps.

Wow, nice, I hope you feel alright!

56 hours is great.

I find that I get home, eat, then have to do something, like oh tons of stuff: empty the dishwasher; fill the dishwasher; get into pajamas; fold clothes; take clothes to put them away; just so many things in the nighttime routine. So, then when I sit down in front of the TV for my 30 minutes or so of show, I’ll eat again. Not a great idea, as I’m about to go to bed, but that’s what happens.

Sometimes I wonder about eating just before bed… It helps with my sleep (especially if I am hungry as I can’t sleep hungry  or if I can, I can’t rest and wake up in an even worse state than my usual super low energy morning zombie one) and never saw any problem with it except it typically means a huge eating window so I inevitably overeat. I am only fine with night eating if I had a too small dinner and could’t eat a proper second dinner at 9-10pm or something. But my plan is still OMAD around 6pm. I just don’t worry if I eat at 2-3am. It happens quite rarely nowadays so yay. (If I was asleep at 2am, that would be the best but I don’t have that control over my sleep.)
By the way, my appetite therefore food enjoyment is highest when I eat late. I really miss out with my lunches and dinners though not always.

I did a 72 hours fast, I did feel surprisingly good this time … No upset stomach when I ate this time too!

That’s good about no upset stomach. I need to do a longer fast this year. Just don’t know when to do it.

Well done, Jules4. I haven’t done 72 hrs. for a while now. Hopefully with warmer weather I’ll get motivated soon.
