7+ weeks and im not making progress

#61

Thank You.

#62

Thank you I appreciate it.I guess I feel disappointed because I’ve given up so much and expected more results.Im far from an expert but let me know if you wanna know what I do🙂

Maybe you should try with carb ups
I read that like this you can fix your platteu effect.

(Lonnie Hedley) #64

Might be a little early to add carbs back.

#65

Thanks, I think though I’m on the right track and I’m going to let my body sort itself out.

(Vicky Sorriso) #66

No, once you are adapted you can add 1 or 2 or every day in a week, always with the last meal - dinner , carb ups. And you need to calculate how much carbs are this, depends on how often you do it. The point is that your leptin level will increase. On the next day you eat full keto.

(Lonnie Hedley) #67

Keto has no rules, however I would not personally recommend doing carb ups twice a week if your goals are weight loss. Especially at 7 weeks, the OP is likely not fat adapted yet and would only prolong the adaptation process.

#68

I’m hoping I am fat adapted by now but not looking to add carbs back

slight TMI warning I’m in a similar situation as you BUT I wanted to point something out that just dawned on me the other day. I listened to the 2keto dudes podcast episode titled “femail”. I suggest listening to that…it may change everything for you! They state in the episode that for a LOT of women, we don’t lose right away because the diet is working to heal any hormonal issues first before moving on to weight loss. A light bulb turned on for me when I heard that. Yes, I still get discouraged about not losing weight but I also had to remember that since starting keto 8 weeks ago the 2 periods I’ve had were by far the easiest I’ve had in my entire life! Zero cramps and pretty light considering. Anyway, I highly suggest you listen to that episode  good luck with everything!

Measurements will be a better guide than pounds.

#71

But isn’t that progress? What counts as progress?

#72

My clothes fitting better

#73

My glucose strips were delivered today, whats the best time to test?

(Ron) #74

In the morning before you eat anything. And if you always test at that time it should be more consistent.

#75

Thanks Ron!

(Vicky Sorriso) #76

I think you are already disappointed  so you loose nothing .

#77

Very possible. But I’m still here fighting for my health and fitness

(Angela) #78

Drop all the added fat (butter, mtc, etc) Lower fat intake
Get into a caloric deficit for your current weight/height/goal (there are calculators online)
Try 1400 cals (?)
Eat only natural fat in foods (steak, avocado) but keep within daily cals
Put emphasis on protein not fat in macros, keep cards low 20g or less
