7+ weeks and im not making progress

The article addresses negative effects where the body is functioning on glucose and not ketone bodies for fuel. In that instance there is some validity to the claims as it has been proven over the past few years that a SAD diet with high fats is detrimental to weight loss and will cause weight gain. The problem with this is that a low caloric intake to reduce weight has been proven to not be sustainable (ex: the biggest loser contestants).
The study cited for a high fat low moderate carb (20%) weight gain was done on rats that had not been ketogenic before the test and the test was only done over a 2 week period. Not nearly long enough for even a rats system to adapt to functioning on ketone bodies.
My thoughts don’t attribute anything in the article to a ketone body fueled human dynamic.

Ron, you ever get a growling stomach after eating 4 bacon and 4 hard boiled eggs? My gut won’t shut up lol

Forgot to take blood sugar test until just a bit ago. All I had today was black coffee and half a Diet Coke and it was 84! Seems high :frowning:

That sounds really good to me. I usually run in the mid-90s when I haven’t eaten anything. And there seems to be some debate whether coffee can raise BG.

#85

Ok well I’m glad to hear that. I’ve been having a tough time the last 4 days with wanting diet soda, I hope I can get it in check. It’s the one and only thing that I ingest that’s a no no. Been strict carnivore now for about 8 or 9 days. Living for Saturday’s weigh in!

The other reason that can be you are not burning fat is that you are consuming too much fat, so you are on Ketosis but you are burning only the fat that you eat.

#87

Mmm I don’t think that’s it but thanks for trying to help me troubleshoot

@Vicky_Sorriso
You might find this enlightening.

So this morning it was 91. In the past before keto and carnivore it was in the lows 80’s. Should I be concerned?

(Ron) #90

Not at all. This is a normal thing and will probably balance out down the road.

a pound of beef brisket at 11 and I’m still stuffed, oh dear

(Donna ) #93

Hi, @kiwado
Did you weigh today? How was it?

#94

I test 3-4x/day – in the morning before I eat or drink anything, sometime around mid-day, after exercise (if I done any), and either before dinner or before I go to bed.

#95

80s and 90s are great for blood sugars. I can’t remember if you are a T2DM, but if so, your range for BS is 70-120. If not a T2, the range is 80-120.

#96

Going to gym at 630 I wanna weigh every time using the same scale… nervous!!! Will post one the deed is done

#97

Not a t2 or t1

#98

OK, so your normal range is 80-120.

My body likes losing 4 pounds a month apparently… gotta jump start this metabolism of mine

4 lbs a month is great! Way to go!
