What did you Keto today?

@Ruina YES!!!

(Bacon for the Win) #9441

Anova is on sale at Best Buy:
Anova @BestBuy

I was going to get a couple for Christmas gifts but would have to get vacuum sealers as well. So maybe not.

(Blessed with butter ) #9442

That looks delicious. Do they ship these🤪

#9443

It is possible to sous vide with Ziploc bags. Vacuum sealed is very nice to have, but not necessary. :+1:

(Blessed with butter ) #9444

And cooked rare yum the best way.

(Blessed with butter ) #9445

@juice @Baytowvin least with your wife gone you will have plenty of time to argue with Baytowvin. Lol:joy::joy::joy:

(Diane) #9446

They are not shipping these at this time. Their website suggests it might be a possibility in the future. These need to be kept refrigerated, so I think that’s the sticking point.

The best cupcake recipe I have tried so far is Carrie Brown’s Orange Coconut Cupcakes. I used a different frosting.

Yes, they have some orange pulp in the batter. But that includes the fiber and it’s divided into 16 cupcakes (at least that’s how many I got). I think it would work to substitute the xylitol for erythritol in this particular recipe.

Surf & Turf.

Yeah, a bit if a protein bomb. (With a serious ring of fat around the edges.) The steaks were about $2.50 a pound (I did have to process them from a whole top-round). After sous vide-ing them for 6 hours, they were as tender any high-dollar steak.

#9448

Look at the fat on those! Looks awesome!:+1:

(Running from stupidity) #9449

Quite right. HOWEVER - the vacuum sealer (a good one) makes the whole process a lot easier, as you can seal them up when you buy a bulk lot and then just transfer them directly from freezer to sous vide. As I may have just done a few minutes ago…

Gives you something to look forward to for the week. I see.

:sweat_smile::metal::metal::metal:

That looks just tooooo good! … Damn, steaks are just pretty! … And the scallops are a nice touch.

Actually getting ready to eat here too, after working in the yard all day. Just wish I had a nice steak to go with the Dungeness & Snow Crab and shrimp. With a salad first. Pics to follow…

#9451

Couldn’t agree more, and that’s exactly what we do. But I didn’t want @NelleG to think they had to by a vacuum sealer for every sous vide they wanted to give away as a present.

But I totally agree, a vacuum sealer is way better, especially if you buy in bulk!

Think of it this way @NelleG, if you get someone a sous vide, maybe you’ll encourage them to finally by that vacuum sealer they’ve always wanted! WIN, WIN! #imfullofbriliantideas

Spinach salad…

Followed by Dungeness and Snow Crab, piece of Haddock, Shrimp … then 1/2 cup Greek Yogurt.

With a rainy PNW Saturday afternoon, it felt like a good soup day, so I made a carnivore chicken soup: chicken stock, chicken thighs, sausage, and bacon.

(Karen) #9454

That looks so hearty and good Yum

(Running from stupidity) #9455

Good work, making soup look good.

(Ashley) #9456

That looks amazing! What spices did you use? I do dirty carnivore.

(TJ Borden) #9457

Same here. I added salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, ground dried thyme, and a few bay leaves.

(Running from stupidity) #9458

Sounds like a good band name

#9459

I’m not a soup person per-se, but I think I would quite enjoy your version. More like a juicy meat lover bowl.
