What did you Keto today?

(Lonnie Hedley) #7336

They joke about how Matt was too cheap to get .com for only $3 more a month.

(Candy Lind) #7337

I probably would be, too!:rofl::rofl:

(Tricia Roth) #7338

I didn’t use the gum, and I flattened the cookies and ended up doubling the bake time.

Just posting my weekly admiration of the butter

Which is kinda ironic, as now they’re paying extra to keep their registry information private.

(just did a whois on both domains to see). My guess is the person that grabbed ketoconnect.com did so to “squat” and ask for $ later.

Have a lot of their recipes in my Paprika app.

Ribs and slaw while enjoying some Supertramp on a rainy afternoon.
Made the BBQ sauce I made last time a little closer by adding some reduced Guinness, onion powder, garlic powder, a bit more smoke and a wee bit of blackstrap molasses…and a little xanthan gum to thicken it up.
Slaw dressing from https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/232313/susans-vinaigrette-coleslaw/ but substituted the sugar with a squirt of Stevia, canola with sesame oil and poppy with flax seed.
Not going to repeat this recipe though (Guinness BBQ sauce)…at 20g of carbs per cup, that’s a little much to be Keto friendly. (wrote a letter to the good folks at Guinness to see if they’ve licensed their flavour to anyone for a low carb extract for cooking).

To give people an idea - before the Guinness “tweak” the sauce only had 6.6g carbs per cup. (Still, it’s way better carb-wise than the real Bull’s-Eye Guinness BBQ sauce - it’s 120g/cup)

Nice

(Lonnie Hedley) #7343

Weird. Ketoconnect.com was a legit Keto site.

The roasted jalapeños are to die for!

I have done two extended fasts, both started when I reached 24 hrs and was absolutely not hungry. I went to bed and was able to get past the 36 hour “hump” and found it easy to keep fasting after that. I also find it much harder to plan a fast.

I know I’m a bit late to the sous vide chat, but I thought some of you might enjoy this hacker’s version of a sous vide setup. Low cost and geeky fun.

Sous Vide Rib Eye:

These low carb tortillas are a pretty welcomed change of pace. At 4 net carbs they have to be part of a planned meal and not just an anytime snack.

This was loaded with ham and cheese and cooked in a bath of butter. Very satisfying.

(Gabriel G.) #7349

Sea burger. It’s hard to see, but there’s a salmon patty hiding underneath the pepper jack and homemade tartar sauce (used olive oil mayo this time).

(Sommer Strickland) #7350

What’s your sauce?

(Ernest) #7351

Balsamic vinegar and red wine reduction kicked up with Aleppo pepper

(Gabriel G.) #7352

This has a sad ending… they get overcooked :frowning:

(TJ Borden) #7353

Been there my friend. My wife prefers medium well steak (a criminal offense in my book, but a small improvement over her previously preferred well done). I put a couple in at 66 Celsius for a full day, and they were inedible.

I still feel bad because I dishonored the cow’s sacrifice.

(Lonnie Hedley) #7354

Only dishonored if you didn’t eat them.

Plate of butter packets in the work fridge is starting to get sparse.

(TJ Borden) #7355

I tired… but no amount of butter or béarnaise sauce could bring them back :pensive:

(Lonnie Hedley) #7356

Oh, then you should be ashamed. :joy::joy::joy:
