What Did You Keto Today? The Trilogy!
Not to one-up you, but when my chickens were very young one of them laid a triple yolk egg. It was humongous. I felt bad for the chicken. I looked up the odds and it’s 1 in 25 million. Apparently, the younger the chicken the more likely it is to lay multiple yolk eggs. I have a pic “somewhere”. This was 3 phones ago so I’ll likely never find it again. But imagine my shock at the time, lol.
I’m with you on the fasting means no food @Digital_Dave, just don’t get the egg fast thing.
If I don’t eat four eggs a day now I end up giving some away, and here I am thinking of increasing my little flock…
Looks delish! And wow for QF day - guttingly I’ve just committed myself to a day away from ANY chance of watching the ladies’ singles final (on telly, I mean)… and I could so easily have avoided putting myself in that situation!
Oh well, you live and learn… diary management needs work!

Yeah, I don’t like to argue with those mentioning these type of Fast, but apparently some think limiting to one certain food item can be considered a Fast. … But unless that one something is ‘Water’…
@Sharon_E I actually have a story about a triple yolk…
I adopted my girls on April 6th and within an hour of having them home, Waffle started pacing and shouting and I somehow knew she needed to lay so showed her how to get to the nest boxes. Sure enough, she produced an egg for me.
There’s a little girl who lives opposite me and when she had found out I was getting hens, she asked her mummy if they would “get eggs” because she had seen an egg being laid on a school trip and was fascinated. So when this egg arrived, I gave it to this little girl and she lovingly carried it into her house.
Three weeks later it’s still not been eaten as little Joci kept telling her mum it was too special to eat because it had been laid just for her. But, a crack appeared in the egg so her mummy picked it up to throw it out but dropped it by mistake. The egg ended up on the kitchen floor and revealed three perfect little yolks inside, so little Joci was right, it WAS a special egg
That cake is beautiful! Raising your kids Keto is so awesome, they will be healthy people for life.
I think it’s more of an elimination diet than a “fast”, to give people a reset or get the scale moving when stalled from what you would typically eat.
If that helps you get through though, you’ll still get benefits. I actually find it easier to have water only when I’m fasting. Initially I used to start with a fatty coffee but found that always triggered hunger.
It takes me all day to sip on 16-20oz of coffee, and I think when I first started fasting it had the same effect on me. But now that I’ve discovered salted coffee it takes away a lot of the hunger pangs.
I am trying to wean myself, from both coffee and HWC, but I’m not having much success!!
@Shortstuff Allie:
Maud and Waffle, so cute! Farm fresh eggs daily, how lovely =).
Awe no, you shouldn’t Sharon. What Allie and I were talking about, is when someone decides to do a single food item ‘Fast’, by simply eating one item for that time-frame… such as Eggs. So though they simply call it an Egg-Fast, its really not Fasting per se, (to me) but I can see how the name works. I’m sure there are all kinds of foods some might do in this fashion. But for me, Fasting is simply not eating.
But during Fasting, I personally like to abstain from foods altogether. Some do still enjoy using HWC, bone broth, etc. and there’s nothing wrong with that. But for me I just prefer to stick with predominately water, or on occasion, a plain Tea or Coffee.
Oh, don’t worry, I know you didn’t mean me. I just know that a lot of people do pure water fasts, and that is so impressive to me that I feel fake when I include myself in the “fasting” group. I doubt I could do 48 on just water. Maybe I could but nobody would want to be around me, lol.
I wish I had discovered fasting before I discovered HWC, it might be a whole ‘nother Story now. When I did my first fast last fall I was putting whole milk in my coffee. I think that would been easy to give up. But HWC is a whole different world. If I had to choose HWC or weed for the rest of my life I don’t know which I would pick, lol. Whoops, I think I just revoked my “true stoner” card.
I agree.
More power to you! Is there a bowing emoji??
I’m on my first day without HWC as I have decided to do a few weeks dairy free. Coffee this morning was homemade ghee (sneaky way to still get that buttery taste while dairy free), coconut oil, and salt only. It was OK…
