What Did You Keto Today? The Trilogy!

(Steaks b4 cakes! 🥩🥂) #6598

Haha! I said this about my lasagna yesterday! Who needs pasta?! Not us!!

Wow!!! How do the chaffles hold out with filling in them? I’ve always been reluctant to make them the night before in case they go soggy!

(Rebecca 🌸 Frankenfluffy) #6600

Absolutely fine! If anything, less soggy than bread would be - but trust me, not in any way dry! #perfect

I’m really keen on preparing food in advance - I know they don’t take long but if I’m making chaffles it’s much easier to make lots! I don’t always have time in the morning so if I get the chance, like today, I seize it.

One thing though - I store chafflewiches ‘end on’ in the fridge, not stacked on top of each other - they squish down too flat if I do that, and I prefer them bouncy!

This is really good to know thank you!
Just like you, I’m all about being prepared the night before and making my chafflewiches in the morning has added to the stress of the morning routine, so it’s good to know that I can do them the night before!

you always have perfect looking eggs…tell me your secret?? How do you not break them?

(Susan) #6603

This base is from a base I bought on Amazon called HoldtheCarbs and it is good, but I prefer the canned chicken crust.

I cut it in 4 pieces and I was full after 2, and this was an OMAD (it is meant to be a fasting day, but I only fasted since yesterday at 2pm from lunch until 5pm today, for 27 hours (OMAD for lunch yesterday and an OMAD today).

#6604

Simple… I have my Wife make them. - Just kidding, but I also make pretty good eggs myself. But I can’t say they all come out like this every time, but yep, most do though. (Hmm, maybe because we make so damn many of them? ) And if any do break, we have three hungry pups that are always happy to provide some assistance, so nothing goes to waste.

Pork rind steak nachos hiding in there…errrm in honor of Susan’s birthday :gift: lol…can’t seem to hack the multiple 42hr fasts yet. Going to 24-36 hrs every other day to try to build up that fasting muscle again.

(Susan) #6606

Hehe! That looks good. I have been Keto since February and I have looked for Pork Rinds at Walmart and I have nooooo clue where they are, I cannot find them, so I have never bought any or tried any yet, ever, in my life! I am very curious about these though. I do want to try them one day, if I can ever find them in the store!!

Do whatever works for you for the fasting =). Nothing is set in stone, it is is a totally voluntary thing, I would hate to think anyone felt obligated or pressured to Fast…please only do what you are comfortable with =).

Hamburger chili with interesting spices. This used cinnamon, cumin and chili powder!

This omelette is a thing of beauty, @Ernest!

They’re usually In the same section as bagged chips and pretzels.

(Susan) #6611

Thank you, I did look there though, and I also have looked in specialty food areas, and cracker areas. I have never had any luck is all.

Monday Dinner:

1/2 (small) Duck w/ a can of Vienna Sausages.

(Rebecca ) #6613

I made this for the first time Friday evening…FANTASTIC!! Who says you can’t have Friday Night Pizza on the Ketogenic diet!!!:pizza:

(Tessa) #6614

That’s too bad you can’t find them at the store. @TimeForMe is right, they are normally in the chip/pretzel/popcorn isle.
I order mine from Amazon. It’s a big tub of the Utz brand for around $8. They are really good and not made with any weird additives.

(Full Metal KETO AF) #6615

How can you eat one of the tastiest meats there is along side of Vienna Sausage? It’s like a divine taste being replaced by mushy gross canned hotdogs…

Sorry Jody and Dave, I find them revolting. I would rather eat carbs. :joy::joy::grin::cowboy_hat_face:

(Jody) #6616

lol. I grew up on them so I actually love them … but I accept that it’s not for everyone.
