Had a long day, and even hunting this afternoon after having to work today, but didn’t see anything. I actually wanted to eat some more Dungeness, but was just a bit tired and the meal the Wife made did quite well in itself… Chicken Gizzards, Chicken Drum-Sticks and Wings, Deviled Eggs, Egg Salad and Pickled Sausages. Also an Almond Milk and 2 Squares Ghirardelli Intense Dark Chocolate.
What Did You Keto Today? The Trilogy!
I know what you mean! I had to go to M & S as the advent calendars are in
@Ernest
Looks good!
Mind me asking the cost or yield breakdown?
Or sticks to ghee amount
Did you use or strain with a strainer and/or cheesecloths
Thanks
I have never done the cost breakdown nor do I intend to. Homemade ghee just tastes way better than any store bought ghee. I normally use those 2 of the 4 packs of kerrygold from Costco.
I strain it with a coffee filter.
I will buy them for my kids/grand daughter but will have to hide them until right before. I buy one for hubby and he eats it all at once…the kids always have the restraint to eat one a day. Walmart sells them for $1 each, I should have bought them last night. I bought the 2020 calendars to give them at Christmas and one for my kitchen (at Dollarama for $1.25 each -I am a bargain hunter!
This video was how I originally heard about the brand. I used the product locator on their website and a Whole Foods store about an hour and a half away from me was the only store in our area that carries it so far. We just happened to go to that area for other reasons recently and so I thought as a special buy I would try it out (I packed a cooler with us that day so I was prepared for the commute home lol) it was $8.99 there for one pint (which seems to be slightly less than what I’ve seen mentioned in various online comments). This makes me want to try again to make my own, but I’m not sure what I would really save given that one vanilla bean around here is like $11…
i got excited for a minute…i thought you figured out how to make the most amazing “Feaux Kraft Dinner” with cauliflour and extra cheese…
Finally realized it was eggs!
Busy cooking today thanks to a 12-hour power cut yesterday! For starters I’ve got a dozen sausages in the oven for breakfast - they seemed okay when I put them in, but I don’t want to continue to store them uncooked in case the fridge got too warm yesterday.
The bad news was I’d lost a morning’s work and had to send my students home!
The good news was that the opera house 15 minutes down the road did NOT have a power cut, so we were very grateful we could still go! Enjoyed an afternoon of Verdi and then a pub supper. Power came back on at 10.30pm - at which point we turned the heating on for an hour as we were shivering in bed by that stage!
@CrackerJax you asked for my thoughts on ‘Rigoletto’ - music and voices were exquisite, but the production was baffling! ‘Rinaldo’ on Friday was terrific, though.
Haha! Did you see the Percy Pig one?! If I wasn’t keto that would be my advent calendar this year!
This was so yummy! Chaffles two ways! I had some left over lasagna meat so I put that between two chaffles, and also made some pepperoni pizza chaffles…so good!
Looks amazing, Clare!
I was thinking of chaffling for lunch, but there’s no way I’m going to be hungry until this evening thanks to my sausage-heavy late breakfast!
How many sausages did you have!?
I’ve been craving pepperoni pizza for a while, there chaffles definitely did the trick
My lovely lasagna I made this morning is ready to be cut into portions…but I’m not sure how many!
My head is telling me to cut it into 6 portions, but My heart is telling me 4
We had two each with scrambled eggs… and then we each had another one! So that was a whole pack. A dinner-sized portion!
Still, my sea bass with greens and veloute at the pub last night wasn’t too hefty, so I did have room! Lunch is off the menu for today although I’m about to make some broccoli and basil soup for tomorrow’s flasks.
The other six sausages are in the fridge and will probably be sliced, stuck between some chaffles and taken to work for lunch in the week.
Square lasagne is MUCH prettier than oblong - so like you, I vote FOUR!
A belly full of sausages sounds like a perfect reason to skip lunch to me!
I much prefer the square lasagna, I’d have only regretted cutting it into 6 portions!
Haha @Momof5 and @ClareBear the M&S advent calendar is pure indulgence! No chocolates just a months worth of toiletries/make up/ potions and lotions! I missed it last year, I was gutted! It’s the one present I buy for myself!
@KetoSnaps I just wish they would leave the timelines alone! I’m glad you enjoyed Handel. Sorry to hear about your powercut!
