Preparing myself for an evening of chaffling by grating an entire block of mozzarella cheese!

It’s hard to lose friends. I’m so sorry. Prayers and a digital hug

I wonder if it’s the lectins. Do you have problems with pressure cooker cooked tomatoes also? Do you peel and deseed your tomatoes?

('Jackie P') #6179

Thank you.:relieved:

Once I started having reactions, I don’t think I tried anything where the tomatoes had been pressure cooked (that I know of anyway), but I can’t experiment with anything related to them now. I did deseed and peel them before I realized the issue was tomatoes (related to digestive stuff at the time). My doctor told me later though that I was having the worst presentation of a true tomato allergy that he had ever seen and to absolutely avoid them (palpatations, severe joint pain, bleeding mouth within minutes, swelling/itching/burning face). I do have problems with all nightshades now…and it was all adult onset - I remember reading something once about the belief that adult onset food allergies can be the result of eating a natural food processed into something with sugar too many times…made me wonder about my crazy ketchup consumption as a kid  I am going to see if I can dig up that article lol

Okay I’m no expert on British English variants. In America we mean a keychain when we say “fob”. Did you mean chain him up and feed him Chaffles? :joy::joy::grin::cowboy_hat_face:

Quick meal between butchering the Deer. … Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, one Salami Popper and some London Broil strips. Also an Almond Milk and 2 Squares of Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate.

(Neil) #6183

That looks amazing! Out of curiosity, where did you find sugar-free ketchup, or did you make it yourself? And are those just standard chaffles as the bread?

Its Heinz. I usually whizz up the eggs and cheese but this time I put a slice of gouda on the hot plate and let it melt and put the seasoned egg on top! Made it crispy one side and soft the other.

Chaffle for breakfast and now lunch is a chaffle sandwich

(Steaks b4 cakes! 🥩🥂) #6186

Lamb burger chafflewich! this brought me great joy! Loved the fact that I could pick this up and eat it like a burger/sandwich. I even went mad and made some mayo to go in it!

(Karen) #6187

Clare, are you using just egg, cheese and baking powder? Your Chaffle is looking better browned than the one I had for breakfast. The one I made for lunch I wanted to be a bit stiffer and so I included almond flour, and oat fiber.

Bacon, Eggs and the odd leftover Chaffle

Yes, I used a mix of baking powder, mozzarella and egg and cooked them in the waffle maker on high! How are you finding the almond flour? I’m working on getting mine a bit stiffer next time

I did the noble thing and shared… am just too nice!

We have the same term - key fob! And no I didn’t but next time I WILL chain him up! ‘Fob off’ means to be deceptive, in this context:

fob off , to cheat someone by substituting something spurious or inferior; palm off (often followed by on): He tried to fob off an inferior brand on us. to put ( someone ) off by deception or trickery: She fobbed us off with false promises.

Please note, chaffle lovers, I am not casting aspersions against chaffles!

Venison Cubes with Mushrooms and Scallions, fried up in butter. Then added a block of Cream Cheese to make a Sauce. Egg Salad and some Pickles and olives on the side.

(Susan) #6194

I had ribs, bacon wrapped asparagus with halloumi cheese with EVOO and cayenne, with Caesar salad

(Neil) #6195

Your venison dish looks delicious, Dave! I wish I had easy access to venison to make something like that
