I feel awful saying it out loud 
but I just miss the days of being left alone to get my work done. I do understand it’s all part of the role, but I feel so much pressure to get everything done at once. I did speak up today and say I felt swamped with it all, hopefully things get better.

This is why I sucked as a kitchen manager. I hated the “babysitting” aspect. It’s like trying to get a bunch of children focused on a task and taking their job seriously. I hated walking in the door and the tattling that so and so didn’t finish prepping their station and that’s why everything is messed up today…

Got my new chaffle machine! Made chaffwiches for work tomorrow. Kept it simple, cheese and marmite😋. Not sure if a tomato would disintigrate it!
Had a re-toasted one with cheese for supper…

I caused an electrical mishap today! I’d set off a huge parmigiana in the slow cooker this morning, and got home this afternoon to discover no power in the house, and a melted slow cooker cable - I somehow had left two inches of the cable stuck between the insert and the aluminium housing… thank goodness that the fusebox did its thing!
Here’s the melted cable - spot the exposed metal… 
Shoved it in the oven instead, then got a bit sidetracked. Mind you, there’s nothing better than that many layers of aubergines, cheese and tomatoes when it’s that caramelised! No pic though.
To finish we had my latest flavour of Frankenfluff - blackcurrant. Snarfed it down quicker than the camera could handle.

Yup! Firstly not to have burnt the house down, secondly to have got supper on the table by 7.30 rather than the early hours of tomorrow morning!
Mr S has snipped off the offending portion of cable, and he’s going to wire the plug back on it. Yes it’ll be shorter, but it’ll still easily reach the socket AND not leave enough trailing cable behind to risk melting it again…

Came home and wasn’t hungry at all, but we did have Steaks in the Sous Vide since yesterday. (24 hrs. or so) So decided to eat and just go back to Fasting. … Top Sirloin, Fried Brussel Sprouts, Pickles and Olives. (Did not eat the Cauli-Egg Salad, since I ate some earlier. Wife put it in a container.)
