What Did You Keto Today? The Trilogy!

(Doug) #5674

From the September IF/EF thread:

Susan, there was no drama at all (practically disappointing in that regard :relaxed:)

A stark and restrained meal of summer sausage and cheese. Didn’t get full, waited a while and ate a lot more sausage and another piece of cheese. The next day came and all was very normal.

Kinda loving these rainy days…it means I get to make chilli!!!

(Steaks b4 cakes! 🥩🥂) #5676

How do we pronounce the word chaffle?

Is it ‘chaffel’…similar to how you would say ‘apple’?
Or is it ‘choffel’…the same way you would say ‘waffle’? :joy::joy::joy:

(Susan) #5677

That is great, Doug. Congrats again on doing the 12 day fast, that is terrific.

(Susan) #5678

With your lovely English accent, it will sound nicer when you say it, however you pronounce it Clare! =).

I say Cha ffle (with a short a personally, but I am not sure if this is correct).

I say it like the word Chapter – but chaffle, like that.

(Rebecca 🌸 Frankenfluffy) #5679

When I’m talking - and I’m afraid I talk a lot about chaffles to anyone who will listen - I pronounce it the latter way, as it’s a CHeese wAFFLE after all - although I have to admit that when I’m reading the word, I do pronounce it in my head as ‘chaffle’ like apple!

Make sense of THAT if you can!

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

EDITED to denote what I meant to say in the first place!

Seems I’ve been doing OMAD lately, even on days when I had planned to do TMAD. Just haven’t been feeling it and somewhat busy getting some other stuff in order. … Pickles, Olives, Pepperoni, Hickory Smoked Spam (Only half, saved half for tomorrow) Sardines, Pickles Sausages, Cottage Cheese, Celery, Black Berries in Greek Yogurt, bottle of Tea and 2 Squares of 90% Lindt’s Dark Chocolate.

Have you been listening to The Great Chaffle Pronunciation Debate on 2KetoDudes? As much as I love Carrie and everything about her whole scene, I have to side with Carl on this one, It is a Cheese Waffle, Chaffle. Not Chattel, Chaffel.

(Steaks b4 cakes! 🥩🥂) #5682

:joy::joy::joy: love it!

I say it how I see it - chaffel! :joy::joy::joy:

(Steaks b4 cakes! 🥩🥂) #5683

No I haven’t!! I need to hear this!

(Steve) #5684

We have been saying It rhymes with waffle

(Full Metal KETO AF) #5685

Yeah Steve, the problem is the British and Australians don’t know how to say with either word correctly. It’s Dutch in origin and it rhymes with awful. :grinning:

(Rebecca 🌸 Frankenfluffy) #5686

I would agree!

(Rebecca 🌸 Frankenfluffy) #5687

Yup. I say ‘choffle’ not ‘chahffle’.

I could never pronounce ‘Barack’ correctly when talking about the former president to my SIL (from OK). She would visibly cringe.

Sober for October! Sparkling water with lemon and mint! Just the job after a busy shift!

Then some cauliflower, broccoli and stilton soup with a drizzle of olive oil. And a chaffle! Like cha cha cha chaffle! Chorful sound like a hooray Henry!:joy:

(Steaks b4 cakes! 🥩🥂) #5689

None of those Dutch words rhyme with choffel! :joy::joy::joy::joy:

#5690

Aw-ful good chaw-ful.

Seriously, it’s like waffle, because it’s a CHeese wAFFLE.

(Steaks b4 cakes! 🥩🥂) #5691

But my brain wants me to say chaff-el :joy::joy::joy:

(Rebecca 🌸 Frankenfluffy) #5692

Picked up some bavette steak on flash sale.

No pic of the finished dish, but I seared it, thinly sliced it when it was still soft and rare, and made a creamy wine and mushroom reduction which I stirred the pink ribbons of steak into just before I put it on the plates. Served it with slow-roasted homegrown squash roasted with a shedload of gorgonzola and a couple of homegrown tomatoes.

With all I’ve been reading on the WW website thanks to the links in the WW vs keto thread today, I am blowing a big raspberry to anyone in the world out there who is thinking the keto WOE is restrictive.

I have this evening restricted myself to steak, cream, wine and blue cheese, followed by lemon cheesecake mousse. How can I possibly bear it?

The Wife and I were talking about making a meat based Casserole of sorts, so she threw one together tonight. Layers of Steak Strips, Sausage, Hamburger, Ricotta Cheese, Bacon and Mozzarella Cheese. Similar to a Lasagna without noodles, but we did have some Cabbage on the side. Was quite good and I had seconds. … Also Almond Milk and 2 Squares of Lindt’s 90% Dark Chocolate.
