Quick lunch of lardons and leftover crustless quiche cooked in bacon fat…I am so stuffed!
First post in this strand, have lurked here for sometime looking at all your wonderful dishes and have gained lots of inspiration…my first ever sauerkraut started yesterday after seeing @CrackerJax take the plunge…thanks everyone for great ideas!
I made these also. As keto bread goes I do think it’s the best in that it’s not baggy or damp. They are a little fussy to make I think.
Breakfast
Two of my children are home for breakfast. Bacon and eggs. My youngest has grown a sensitivity to the yolks in eggs. So toast and bacon for her. My other daughter has a dairy sensitivity so artificial butter, and bread that has no dairy. I kept cooking eggs past the point that anyone asked for them so… I ate them.
Welcome @Anjellica! This is a lovely sociable thread, I’m so glad you joined us. I hope you enjoy the sauerkraut, I think it would of been a little salty for me before but now its just right. Also not mushy like the bought versions!

I don’t know if it’s my imagination, but, I have eaten it for 3 days now and my stomach feels flatter! The scales are still stinking liars though

I wish I’d realised at the time that I’d grabbed the whisk attachment rather than the pair of beaters I should have gone for - I really struggled with the gumminess!
Mr S’s verdict was a happy surprise - ‘It was okaaaaay, but nothing like anything I’d had before. Well, a bit like an almond croissant but savoury. And very chewy.’
That’s actually quite positive, for him!
Might even try eating one myself!

One positive side-effect I’ve identified from eating so much of it is that my teeth always feel so clean! Okay, I know I’m not eating sugar or starch to fur up my teeth in any case, but since I started making and eating sauerkraut I’ve also noticed a profound and positive difference to how my mouth feels.

Italian Sausage and Tomato Dill Feta Scramble
I took a picture in the kitchen but I liked the way it shined in the living room better, plus a little leg for the ladies!
The gophers have killed my tomato bush and I have about 50 ripening all at once…. After last night there was a foot tall mound of dirt around the base of the stem! I have tried trapping them but never got a single one. They have destroyed my herb bed and I had to dig everything up and move the plants to try and save some of them. They are the worst!

@CrackerJax The only thing they have left alone is rosemary, but who knows if that will last! Maybe they don’t like the terpenes in it? I give up, they win, game over.
