Oh blimey. I’m all egged out again. I used to eat tonnes of hard boiled eggs and then about 18 months ago I started feeling sick every time I had one - and they didn’t taste nice any more either. After about 6 months without eating all that many, I went back to eating eggs again (usually scrambled or fried rather than hard boiled).

I’ve had quite a lot of eggs the last few days (6 on Sunday, 6 on Monday, 4 yesterday. Just had eggs for lunch (having had some for breakfast too) and out of nowhere I have suddenly turned against them again!

I’d been planning to make bacon-wrapped Scotch eggs later for tomorrow with some of the mixture for tonight’s experimental meatloaf-to-be… Well, I might still do that - perhaps the meat will ‘dilute’ the nauseous impact of the eggs!

I’ll admit it’s not ideal! I’d never had a problem with any food, but after eating half a dozen eggs every day without fail for a long period of time I started having issues with feeling queasy. And now it’s happening for a second time I’m going to ease off a bit, regretfully!

I don’t blame you - eggs are a funny old thing. Must be a texture thing maybe?

I could never eat egg whites as a child…my mum has a video of me refusing to eat the whites of my boiled eggs when I was about 3 years old! I was like it up until recently. I’ll happily eat the egg whites of a boiled egg and a fried egg now, but I know if I over-do it I’ll end up in the situation youre in! :laughing:

Got to catch up. Busy weekend, then I was sick Monday and Tuesday.

Friday Dinner:

After a run at the [dog] park, we decided to stop at Burger King for some quick dinner. They just opened one about 2 miles from the house and they sell the Whopper patties for $1 EACH.

I had 6 (total $6.60)!!

Was going to Fast, but last night started having some stomach issues? Felt fine overall really, just like something I ate in the past days wasn’t agreeing with me? … So had the similar issues this morning, so took the day off. Then decided to eat something with the Wife this morning… Egg’s, Bacon, Sausage Links and Sausage Patties. Also had an Almond Milk, 2 Squares Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate & Pecans.

Yup. I’ve made Bender (from Futurama) out of bacon!

NO clue how long to cook these bad boys! @CrackerJax I was inspired by your dinner party meatloaf the other week - any cooking tips?

Made a mix out of six ground-to-a-paste leftover-from-breakfast slices of bacon and its fat, 400g pork mince, an egg, an onion, and a load of herbs and seasonings (no salt as the bacon deals with that).

Used just over half of it to make the meatloaf, then enrobed two hard boiled eggs with the rest, and clothed it all in thinly sliced smoked streaky bacon.

Meatloaf’s for tonight. Going to chill Bender’s eyes and have them with salad tomorrow. Scotch-ish eggs.

Edited due to nonsensical omissions in recipe reporting!

Hey! That looks so good! I made mine thicker and I wrapped it in grease proof paper for an hour at gas mark 5, then opened the paper for 30 mins, then turned it out onto a baking tray for 20 mins or so to crisp it up. But looking at yours, and pork cooks a little quicker than beef, I would say 30 mins each side, or an hour if you don’t want to turn it. Maybe, 15 mins x 2 for the egg ones!

I agree @ClareBear eggs can be funny. I tend to not like eggs in the winter… almost like it’s a seasonal thing. I have never understood it. Because when I am in the mood I love them.

(my wife on the other hand can eat 4 eggs every morning, everyday and never gets bored or turned off. Makes me jealous :slightly_smiling_face: no decisions to be made)

Thanks @CrackerJax! The loaf is now ‘resting’, and McBender’s eyes are in for another 20 mins. I reckon they’ll shrink quite a bit - the loaf did!

Glad I turned it out of the dish - the bacon’s much prettier when it’s not soggy!

Thanks so much for the advice - in fact I’ve only just seen it but it turns out I wasn’t far out! :+1:

Hope it’s edible - I fear it’ll be on the salty side! Mr S is excited about his half of ‘that fab sausage roll’!

I finally went to the dentist with my broken tooth, :frowning:, bad news, I have broken it in half and it needs to come out. She couldn’t take it out today as I am on Apixaban (a blood thinner), so she has patched me up until Wednesday. I was hungry and had planned to have


Steak and kidney casserole with creme fraiche and parsley. I ate the mushrooms, kidneys and gravy with a little shredded beef.
Ps. Yes that is a glass of wine, I am self medicating :slight_smile:
