Lunch with a couple of friends today at a Miller and Carter steak house. I had a 50 day matured ribeye with salad and a side of buttery, garlicky mushrooms! I was going to whip out my phone and take a photo, but one friend burst out crying and told us a tale of woe. It would of been very insensitive! Shame it was a lovely looking plate :slight_smile:

I’ll tell you what I ate, just to keep this post “kosher,” but then I’ll tell you what I didn’t. I ate leftover prime rib with sautéed mushrooms and a big salad with our homemade Italian dressing. As I ate, I was reading all the propaganda on the table (I’m a compulsive reader; I read whatever is in front of me, even if it’s upside-down) and noticed this ad! Nearly fell off my chair! :exploding_head: What brainiac thought ice cream on top of no-sugar-added pie was a good idea? :rofl:

So tonight’s Ribeyes were Sous Vide’d… But it doesn’t seem like many people are doing this here ?

Anyway, they came out really good, but what’s perplexing me, is that my GF’s Ribeye (12oz), about 1/3rd smaller than mine (and from a different cow) came out closer to medium rare, while mine (18oz) was pretty much medium ? Still super juicy and tender. But I kept looking at hers and (besides the size) kept wanting to trade :slightly_smiling_face: lol They were SV’d @ 138 degrees for 2 hrs.

Then, the Au Gratin Zucchini was off the chain :slightly_smiling_face: Just Zucchini slices, mozzarella, and cheddar… Then some heavy cream, a little sour cream, and a little zanthum gum, micro waved, mixed and pour over the top, before baking at 375 until golden on top :slightly_smiling_face:

Will definitely be good until breakfast :wink:

Sucks to be on such a strict diet :wink: lol But hey, for starving myself like I am, I was lightest yet on the scale today… 212.8 from a starting weight of 245…

The recipe called for half a head of Napa cabbage. I would put more cabbage in next time, and a little less red pepper flakes. :hot_face:

Still in hospital at the mo @CrackerJax
She had a bad night on sunday/Monday night so she was given morphine. There wasn’t any improvement in her lung x-ray at the weekend but we went to see her last night and she seemed in good spirits, was moving around and that’s a definite improvement. Where she’s not allowed to be on her RA drugs because she’s on anti biotics she’s in pain again xx
