@OldDoug & @Digital_Dave I don’t know how you guys do it! Respect…My stomach is kind of shrunk from eating smaller meals. OMAD would take effort for me to build up to capacity wise and I am afraid I would feel more hungry . I could eat that spread over two meals and feel full both times, the one time I tried OMAD I ate 6 chicken legs and broth, and some bok choy stir fried. I felt pretty ill for a couple of hours
Dr. Berry says that you can eat uncured or cured bacon. It doesn’t matter one way or the other.
I prefer uncured, however, Wegmans’ is just the best flavor of any bacon I’ve had. I do not like all bacon because many of them are too ‘pig’ for me.
I believe it just depends on how strict you are about what you are eating. I do not believe you have to worry about it, but since I am trying to get a normal A1c, I avoid any form of sugar, whenever possible.
@cansel A trace amount of sugar in bacon will affect your BG levels less than a serving of broccoli or cauliflower will, fairly insignificant. My HbA1c is coming down over time in spite of steroids by just keeping to 20 carbs without worrying where those came from.
What @Diygurl19 says is correct, nitrates are nitrates whether they’re from a salt that’s mined or manufactured, or celery which a couple of stalks have 100’sX the amount as a whole pound of bacon. But taste is valid, there is an uncured bacon I love, EJ’s.
That may be true, but I still do not like ingesting it, if I do not have to. I do not have control when I eat out, but I do in my home.
We made a 10 lb shoulder for a party last weekend and served it with a few sauces…

Had a personal day off work today and went to a local restaurant for my OMAD. Got a burger topped with a fried crab cake and bacon didn’t eat the bread and got a side of broccoli
anyone else feel like a weirdo ordering burgers at restaurants and removing the bread / eating with a fork and knife?
whatever though, I’m sure they’ve seen weirder things before
