I’m feeling a bit peckish after tracking severe storms for the last few hours, so I’m having some of these (AWESOME) cracklins with Chart House bleu Cheese Dressing/dip and a few olives.


Then, since I’m still kind of in “weather” mode, I will share this “watch vs. warning” info graphic I saw, that I think is really hilarious (or just plain scary!) if you’re lc/keto!

And see, I always thought the “Watch” was because you could actually see it, as in “We’re watching it.”, and the warning was all the ingredients are here to do something. :man_shrugging:

Yes…watch is ‘make sure weather radio is plugged in and nothings in the interior closet where we’ll be hiding if needed’ and warning is ‘get all living things in the house into closet while fighting back bursting into tears and scaring the children even worse than they already are’ - got to experience this on Tuesday…

My new favorite: sardines “savor”

We finally decided to prepare sardines at home ( i always felt like they’re such a hassle) and use leftovers for a common dish. :slight_smile:
I tweaked the recipe a little due to lack of ingredients, but it was still delicious. It tasted like our local dish, “beef salad,” which is composed of meat from beef soup, onions, eggs, spices, vinegar and oil.
I removed the spines from sardines and placed them in a dish. I heated a little olive oil, sautéed one small onion, 2 garlic cloves, capers and parsley and poured it over the sardines, added more olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper to taste. If i would have had some pinot griggio, I would have added about 100ml to sauteed onions before adding the mixture to sardines. Overnight in the fridge, delicious :slight_smile:

No! really? How is it? Here in the US (I think you are in UK?) I can easily get the plain at Trader Joes, but when I tried to order the orange or the almond off of amazon it was a nightmare/fail.

Made steak and eggs for breakfast. I think I’d rather have made steak and steak :laughing:

Still new at steak, used my new cast iron pan but made the smoke alarms go off while trying to give it a good sear :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

I made these things with cauliflower, egg and spices… bit like hash browns but with cauliflower. Had them with a small piece of wild caught salmon (no factory farmed chemical laden fish for me), and hollandaise sauce.

And this morning, I made this cheese omelette for me Chunk :heart_eyes:

Try the reverse sear. By baking your steak at low temperatures, you dry out the surface and get a better (and less smoky) sear.
