Yes, I give mine either oyster shells or if desperate crush egg shells. They love it.
And if you find a bumpy egg…that means cut back. This is not often, they actually, once healthy and well fed are quite self sufficient.
What did you Keto today? Part Deux!
Jalpeños and Jack Scramble with Bacon
Basic breakfast this morning, I am harvesting my first collard green cuttings today for dinner time, I can’t wait to try them.
I just looked online at my store and it says they carry them, now I just have to figure out WHERE!
They are in the deli cheese case in my H-E-B. But they are easy to make, so I’ve never bought any.
A “this & that” OMAD of leftovers today (except for the fresh collards stewed with bacon chunks). Avocado/“guacamole” with lemon juice & salsa, prime rib fatty “tips” and tuna/sardine salad. Not pictured: Chicharrones for dipping, and I always have a few olives.
Olive oil isn’t good for temps over 350 (oxidation) - use bacon nectar, lard, coconut oil or ghee instead. Bacon nectar roasted veggies are HEAVENLY.
Dinner was two burgers covered with edam slices and pancetta, with an extremely ripe avocado and a broken fried egg!
For tonight: two sirloin in the sous vide. A generous sprinkling of Redmonds salt and a good dollop of duck fat on each. Sirloin isn’t my favorite cut but Lidl had them on sale $2.49ea grass fed.
For later: swung by a favorite meat shop and stocked up on ribeyes, burgers, and ribs.
So I literally did at lunch to the store to find these! I found them in the cold tortilla section. Thanks for sharing. These are the kind of products that can make the difference between eating at home at eating out when the kids have games/practices/events…etc… and we don’t get home till late. I can’t wait to test these out!
Came home early today to pick up some plants for the Garden. But after getting back, decided to eat before heading out to plant. Family wanted the Grill lit up for tonight. … So I did Top Sirloins, Hamburgers, a London Broil, 1/4 lb. Beef Hotdogs and Italian Sausage.
So my share was Fried Mushrooms and Onions, Pickles and Olives, Top Sirloin, piece of London Broil, Bacon, 1/4 lb. Hotdog, Hamburger and some Broccoli. … Now I just need to crawl out to the Garden and start planting… or maybe just go to sleep in the dirt? Whichever comes first!
Buffalo Chicken Bake with Collards
Leftover grocery store roast chicken, butter, Frank’s Wing Sauce, garlic powder, S&P and Bleu Cheese melted on top. The collards are the first cuttings from my garden sautéed with a piece of bacon. The BCB was super delicious as were the collards.
Made kielbasa and cabbage for dinner and tried a low carb chocolate chip cookie. Both pretty good. The cookies are soft, I think I need to tweak them a bit.
Smoked paprika and garlic kielbasa and cabbage is a go to of mine! Cheap and easy
I really liked it. I love cabbage in a forms and it’s the first kielbasa I’ve had in 23 years lol. Going to eat it all the time now.
What cheese slices do you use when you make yours?
There is something nice about being able to grab a cheese wrap and make a quick snack on the go w/o having to clean anything up/cook/prep. We do enough of that as it is. And these wraps have no weird ingredients.
