What did you Keto today? Part Deux!

(MooBoom) #7392

as much as I love cooking, sometimes I have days where I just can’t muster the will to do it.
Love a good scrounge meal- but gotta have a reasonably well stocked fridge.

This is my favorite kind of meal! Just bits and pieces of everything

(Natasha) #7394

Chocolate chip muffins. They were so good!

(traci simpson) #7395

How or can you describe the taste of cooked radishes?

(traci simpson) #7396

I love making those.

(Natasha) #7397

They retain some of the radishy flavour, lose most of their pepperiness (I’m using all the adjectives today!) and the texture is still crunchy. I cooked mine with some garlic granules, they were really tasty.

I’ve always like Radishes myself, and we use Radishes a lot more now days too with Keto. In salads raw, in the crock-pot/slow cooker as potato replacements with Roast, as well as fried with Eggs and baked in meals. - To me they do still keep some of their natural flavoring, but it also sorta reminds me of a combination of Onions/potatoes, both taste/feel when in the slow cooker or baked.

This is how I eat when my kids are at their Dad’s, it’s soooo easy!

I just started pan frying radishes for the first time this year when they started showing up at the market fresh, I agree w/Natasha…they lose that sharpness, but still really tasty!

I’m learning to enjoy them fresh too, I’m going to add them to my garden this year.

Same here!!

Radishes are super easy to grow and mature fast!

I also like them broiled in the oven with some olive oil and seasonings until slightly brown. Yum.

If you can get it daikon is easier to work with and milder than small red skin radishes. I love it as a mash potato substitute. Make sure you boil radishes until they are fully cooked, I often underestimate by a few minutes and have to cook the mash longer to soften the little crunchy bits. Cut <1/4” thick for a quicker cooking time. They take a little longer than potatoes and don’t start disintegrating like them either. Drain all the cooking water, put back in the pan with cream and butter, I would try sour cream instead of HWC if I had some. S&P and a little garlic powder and parsley. Mash…Yum :yum:

This is not true… sorry. Your girl is just that amazing that’s all. Egg shells are formed and hard inside her, but don’t worry she is built to do that.

Does this indicate a need for more calcium in their diet? I have noticed that jumbo eggs seem to have thinner shells too. :cowboy_hat_face:

(Mame) #7406

Thanks! I always enjoy finding recipes that aren’t too sweet. (I may use butter instead of coconut oil as I love the taste of it.)

(Allie) #7407

I have them on a supplement already

(Jane) #7408

Husband found these at a grocery store in Houston. Can’t wait to try them. Keto is becoming more popular!
