Morning class was on The Lewis and Clark expedition. Always interesting. Lunch was from the King soopers deli. Picked up my book from the library

Carnitas bowl. Update: I found that the recipes and pictures in the keto diet book from the library we’re not particularly inspirational. In fact I think many of the pictures that I see posters posts that are more inspirational.

Creamed Cauliflower Cheddar Soup

So my “minor oral surgery” today turned out to be the most painful dentist chair experience of my life. :woozy_face: Not so much where they worked but the tendons and jaw joint were agonizing for a couple of hours afterwards.

Kind of calmed down now but I found out I am going to be toothless while the dental implants heal, about two weeks before I can chew food again. This is the pits, my best friend is coming to visit from Florida Friday and I had plans of awesome food and now I’m on a soft food no chewing diet the whole time she’ll be here. It’s going to be a really hard keto challenge for me, a lot of fish and eggs and over cooked veggies. I can’t eat my beloved sauerkraut so I guess I have to be happy with some kraut brine to get my probiotics. :cowboy_hat_face:

I managed to fast until lunch today which is promising. Energy levels are back up and I’m not craving fat like I was. Lunch today was chopped spinach covered in melted ghee, avocado, a can of salmon and topped with mayo :blush:

I’m struggling to even do OMAD at the moment so am being gentle with myself and eating intuitively. Yesterday I planned OMAD but ended up eating again after twelve hours, and today I planned it again then ended up eating after eight hours.

High stress and fasting definitely don’t go together. I could push through if I put my mind to it, but as I’m focusing on doing everything I can to minimise the stressful things I can control, it just didn’t make any sense to do that.

@Shortstuff You’ve been OMAD since I joined I think. I also remember you’re in maintenance and have been at this 4+ years if I’m not mistaken. I’m curious why you’re staying with OMAD still, I think you’re smart for listening to your body and having a second meal, it’s not a weakness you didn’t push through IMHO. :cowboy_hat_face:

Maybe I’m wired different? When I’m really stressed I simply won’t eat, especially if it’s something extremely emotional.

It’s weird. If I’m stressed and not thinking specifically about food then I don’t eat and have no problem with that, but when I’m stressed and consciously trying to fast, it just doesn’t work.

That makes sense if it’s constantly on your mind and your trying to already fast! Usually for me stress just makes me not want to do anything, usually just crawl into bed and sleep. Probably not the healthiest thing. I hope your stress alleviates soon!
