I’m in Hong Kong for the day an got some pho. The waiter was very worried that i wasn’t getting noodles, that is wouldn’t be good value. He only spoke cantonese so my friend explained it was okay.

Well, I say that pho was the best bang for my buck. Loaded with meat and a nice amout of veg. Nice brisket pho… mmmmm…

Chad, actually! I didn’t think anyone would notice he was missing because they think he’s Will Ferrell anyway.

(Little Miss Scare-All) #5848

 would have never made that connection but youre totally right!!!

@Keto6468 @christylaine I use baking powder (1\2 tsp.) and fine almond flour. There’s a lot of variations with almond flour. I like Anthony’s or Bob’s Red Mill. Also don’t get almond meal. It’s gritty I hear.

(Karen) #5850

Yes, you can get the finely ground almond flour. Somehow the oat fiber flour makes the drier muffin. Additionally I think it’s slightly lower in carbs. Anyway I have a bunch of it, so I’ll use it up.

(Christy) #5851

I grabbed my almond flour on a whim … it’s definitely not meal but, still quite lumpy. It seems moist, almost. I’d tell you the brand but I am already in bed :upside_down_face:

Fatty ground lamb

Lazy meaty meal tonight. Came across some 70% lean ground lamb tonight (yes!) and cooked it up in some ghee. Nicked a few wood ear mushrooms from the in-laws and wolfed this down. Had a few slices of head cheese on the side (gave a bit to the dogs too, they love random bits of pig face, it seems) and ate too many hot chili peppers. Seemed to have picked up a bit of a thing for them these days but then I do love spicy things.

Had an ice cold cold brew bought in Trader Joe’s with it all as well, which was nice.

(Running from stupidity) #5853

Unless it’s coconut, I presume, as it requires about a quarter of most other flours.

(Steaks b4 cakes! 🥩🥂) #5854

I’m so much nicer in the mornings with cream in my coffee!! :joy::joy::joy::joy:

(Khara) #5855

Thanks for the recipe. Glad you found yourself a bowl. I did that search a while back for a pan that made the perfect sized “tortillas “.
Which brand of flour did you go with? Some reviews on Amazon aren’t good, sounds almost like some people got a spoiled product.

Hotel breakfast. There was no bacon, and the meatballs were sweet. Like, seriously!?
But I did get enough food, somehow.

(Karen) #5857

That explains why I’ve had problems with coconut. Cocomut always tastes sweet to me too so I think it’s weird with a meat sandwich.

Love that meat to mayo ratio.

#5860

It’s actually a bacon cheese spread. It has the same perfect fat : protein ration as the ham cheese. But yeah, if I could eat that much mayo, I would. Too much egg though, I’d get sick. Some allergies really suck.

(Little Miss Scare-All) #5861

Mmmmmmm cheeeeeese spread. Sounds fabulous.

#5862

Kids love it. We truly believe in dairy here in Norway.

(Little Miss Scare-All) #5863

Norway is always a place Ive wanted to go. Its gorgeous. Something on my bucket list is taking a long Viking cruise on one of those squatty river boats, all through Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Hungary.

For coconut flour mug bread

1T fat, 1 egg, 2T coconut flour, 1T HWC, pinch of salt and 1/4t baking powder. Mix the powders in a small bowl and the wet stuff in a mug. Add the dry stuff into the mug and microwave 60-90 seconds depending on your microwave power. You don’t need to pre grease the mug. If you use butter just zap for 10 seconds to melt and mix from there. I don’t have a microwave so I bake about 10-12 minutes in my small convection oven at 325F.
