What did you Keto today? Part Deux!

(Karen) #5465

Irish breakfast of corned beef, cabbage, two sunny side up, and ghee

Which place? As long as it’s not somewhere far away like Spokane or Yakima I’m always interested in hearing places people have successfully eaten out at, with a keto WOE.

#5467

That looks bloody good and satisfying.

(Ashley) #5468

That’s looks so damn yummy!

#5469

Wife decided to make something for a mid-day mea, so I joined her. - Salad, Pork Rinds w/ some Potted Meat, and a Pork Chop with Turmeric and some Caul-Egg Salad.

Could it have been deep fried? Or started with half cooked bacon and finished in the oven maybe. A broiler would tend to crisp the bacon unevenly.

Basic Breakfast

I started a batch of kimchi last night, my first time making it. Pictures to come next weekend. :cowboy_hat_face:

#5472

This looks like summer

(Steaks b4 cakes! 🥩🥂) #5473

Chicken wrapped in parma ham, on some spinach leaves with green beans. Obviously I smothered the whole lot in garlic ghee :yum:

Tim’s Kitchen, Orting/Puyallup. I also saw they have “breakfast stackers”. The meat lovers one has a layer of potatoes (will omit), pork sausage, bacon, diced ham, shredded cheddar, and eggs. I plan to try that next time. :grinning:

(Khara) #5475

Yes. I thought maybe deep fried as well! I can’t do that at home so I’ll try some other methods. Will keep your thoughts in mind. I also thought about just the cast iron skillet since that’s how we do our bacon normally.

(Ashley) #5476

Kielbasa and cabbage with some butter, garlic, and spices chucked in!

(Doug) #5477

Very quickly, he got mad at another poster and rage quit the forum - that’s my impression. Perhaps he was a bit tired of it anyway…?

Wife made the big Turkey, which I thought we did a few weeks ago. But apparently, that was the smaller of the two. This one was 25 lbs. … Turkey, Corn Beef and Cabbage, with Pickles & Olives.

I didn’t take a pic but I made blackened cajun shrimp tacos with some store bought low carb tortillas, smothered in shredded lettuce, cheese, avocado, salsa and sour cream. The tortillas were 6 net carbs & I had 2, so I’m probably over my carbs for the day because I snacked a little today. Had some deviled eggs, a small dill pickle, some cheese crisps oh and…I had breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon and half of an avocado. I’m normally OMAD but I’ve just been super hungry today. Not going to stress about it because I have a half marathon on Sunday and I look at it as fueling my body to run my best race. I lifted weights heavier than I’ve ever lifted before yesterday as well so maybe that has something to do with the hunger :woman_shrugging:

I made a ton of food today because I work 12+ hours a day until the weekend. I roasted a a pork loin (not pictured) made 10 cheeseburgers (not pictured), a broccoli salad, a regular salad (both not pictured), a veggie beef casserole for myself (not pictured) then made two pork tenderloins for the BF for dinner and I made pan fried tilapia for myself. Might be the only way I cook tilapia from now on

I think his tenderloins look like giant charred slugs

Lazy breadless tuna melt, minus the melt, topped with a serving of Russian, and a side of anchovies.

Yummy

Ive seen potted meat but was terrified of it. Reminds me a little of Fancy Feast.

What does it taste like?

#5484

Used to eat it some while growing up, and always like it. Used to make a Sandwich or just on Crackers. Just started eating it again not too long ago, and I still find it quite nice, especially with Pork Rinds and the like. … Salty, so a good source of Sodium, plus it’s relatively cheap and very low carb. So it fits in quite well with Keto. - Can’t say everyone will like it, & yeah some have said it reminds them of cat food.

Kind-of like mushy meat similar to cat food texture, which some might not like, but I think it’s definitely worth a try and I actually prefer it over say, sardines or the like. We pick it up in 6 pack for just a few $'s.
