Great bay for crabbing!
I dory fish off Pacific City, so when ocean crabbing is open that’s my first choice. Otherwise it’s Newport or Waldport.

TWO Oregonians? Who knew!

Hmmmm, not sure what to make of this…

Small lunch today. Breakfast was late and dinner is going to be early. Liverwurst and a 1/2 beef stuffed pepper. I haven’t had liverwurst since I was probably 15 and I’m 65. Tasted just like I remembered and I can eat it. Kind of like it. Might have to try chicken liver pate next.

always a handful of macadamia nuts.

Also 2 oz raspberries, 1 oz of HWC and 2 drops of stevia. I use stevia less than once a month.

This is the 2nd time I have had berries since going strict keto in June.

I love liverwurst with some hot English mustard :yum:

We went to the Stone Mountain Highland Games today. Should have brought lunch. The vendors were awesome - if one eats carbs. We paid through the nose for these nummy turkey legs. Fatty and salty - probably the best we could have asked for and stayed on plan.

Regardless of the food, I’m jealous as hell! Hope you had a blast!!!

We were celebrating my wife’s birthday today and she wants to go to Peter Chang’s in Short Pump VA. This is considered by some to be a top 10 chinese restaurant. We think so.

My oldest daughter and I are keto and my wife is lower carb. We asked about the dishes and sugars and other carbs. “We make all dishes and the sauces up when the dish is prepared. We will make it however you want.” She said with a smile. And she checked with us several times as we ate.

Szechuan Salmon with extra numbing peppers.

Twice Cooked Pork Belly

Not show was three pepper beef.

The entire meal was outstanding. No sweetness at all. Carbs from veggies, onions only. And we have some leftovers.

HIghland Games are awesome fun!
I actually competed a couple of times, not well, but I did it anyway.
Maybe one day I’ll try it again.

Had a Salad with Eggs, then a Delmonico Steak with Fried Onions, Pickles, Olives and some Kale. … But only ate 1/2 the Steak and Onions, as well as the Kale, so this will be tomorrow’s dinner as well.

My wife is off running a lunchtime training session for some speech therapists and occupational therapists about 90 minutes drive away, so I made her lunch.

18-hour sous vide porterhouse, seared and air-dried, with shaved heritage Italian prosciutto, roundels of mild Hungarian salami, a four-cheese salad and topped with two dainty stuffed olives.

Err, all stuffed into a Sistema container for the journey. #presentationmatters

It was very fun. A few of the athletes were strong as hell but they coulda maybe used a little keto eating plan. :yum:

#475

Why does this not surprise me.

#476

I love these long cooked steaks. I’m usually too impatient to cook more than 3 or 4 hours, but when we really cook them–oh, they’re so good!

This morning I had a Blonde Roast from Starbucks with heavy cream in it. In the early afternoon I headed to a farm about 45 minutes away for autumn fun with my wife and daughter. There were so many things to do and we picked up a few pumpkins, of course. Food-wise I was a bit hungry – my wife and daughter aren’t keto and they tucked in to some roasted corn, hot dogs, and fries. I managed to pick up a turkey leg which was underwhelming, but sneaked some butter from a nearby building and improved it a bit (and killed the slight hunger signal I had).

It’s my wife’s birthday today so we headed out to the restaurant of her choice to have steak. I ended up getting a blue cheese salad followed by the most incredible ribeye I’ve had in a while – seriously, the fat was in abundance, barely trimmed down, and was cooked to perfection. It’s like the cook was winking at me through the wall, this fine piece of cow having my name engraved on it, or something. Mingling on top of the steak was a Béarnaise sauce and some crab, and I had a few greens on the side. I finished the whole cut, which I hadn’t imagined doing, given how fatty it was. The wife and I definitely agreed we’d like to head back there soon.

The salad

The steak (which my mouth is still watering over)

Curd pancakes with peanut butter and raspberries

28 day - does that mean dry-aged for 28 days?

(Running from stupidity) #480

The trick is to use crappy steak like rump (generally), then you’ve got no choice

Yeah, no surprises!

I’ve decided it’s close enough to pay day for me to justify buying food after my month of using up freezer and cupboard contents, so my first and maybe only meal of the day will be these chicken wings as these are what I missed most :joy:
