Sorry - no new pic but I froze the leftovers from the above and thawed out today and made some more konjac rice for it. I didn’t think the leftovers had enough chicken in it so I grabbed some shrimp from the freezer and threw that in there, too. Was yummy.

We’ve only been doing Steaks in the Sous Vide. Haven’t tried anything else just yet, but we will. :slight_smile:

My favorite sous vide meat is pork. Lions, roasts, etc. So easy to dry it out with normal cooking but always comes out juicy, tender and perfect with sous vide.

Unfortunately, we’re not allowed to eat Lions where I live. :crazy_face: :rofl: … But we will be trying out some pork though. It’s the Wife’s favorite as well. :slight_smile:

Roughing it on a Sunday evening in my gaming studio, uh - I mean office.

Steak and Jalapeños. A cheap electric skillet, 400°F or 204°C. Tried light, refined olive oil (says “high heat cooking” right on the label) for the higher smoke point - said to be as high as 470°F, and it worked perfectly. The oil tastes much different than regular olive oil, though, just to drink it.

When the meat was done, in went the jalapeños, with some butter, at 350°F or 177°C for 3 or 4 minutes - in with whatever meat juice and fat was still in the skillet. These were relatively mild jalapeños to start with, and the sauteing made it so there was just the barest hint of heat left, with a surprisingly ‘sweet’ aspect.

The meat was all right, not great - cheap chuck steak that was “buy one, get one free,” in the store last night. The mild jalapeños with salty butter were absolutely godly. This was 8 normal size peppers, and tomorrow I’m going to see if I can get 50 or so for the next time.

Roast chicken with pink Himalayan salt and butter. Avocado mayonnaise and homemade guacamole. Went back for another round of chicken then was very full.
