Three months in... guess what! No weight loss

(Adriana Ro) #1

That’s what I eat in one day:
I skip breakfast
Lunch: a couple of eggs and a couple of sausages with homemade mayo. Some thin slices of bacon or some zero carbs cheese
Dinner: Usually a keto mousse (250g heavy whipping cream, 250g cream cheese, a bit of stevia, unsweetened cocoa powder or coffee)

I rarely eat veggies (twice a week) because after a few hours I’m hungry again. My calorie intake is around 2000 calories a day. I can’t work out because of an ingiury.
I am not even fat adapted yet, because I’m often hungry.
I keep loosing and gaining those 4lbs. What am I doing wrong?

May be to much protein. Do you track your macros? 2 full fasting days s week may kick off autophagie better.

(Adriana Ro) #3

I only track carbs, my diet is mainly carnivore basically

No weight loss at all? None? For how long?

Your dinner might just have too much fat and carbs in it to get you to lose weight.

I’m not too skilled with keto but it seems like reeling in the fat a bit would allow you to use more of your body fat.

Since I started Keto I only lost like 4lbs but I keep loosing it and gaining it back (it dependson the time of the day when I weight myself so basically I havent lost a lb because that is just water weight) do you also think that I may be eating too much protein?

(Adriana Ro) #7

My Dinner contains a looot of fat, but it only contains like 14 total carbs or so. I Will try and reduce the portion of mousse to burn my own body fat

But what is your starting weight ? If we are talking of 5 to max 10 kg over normal your body may consider your current weight normal. And that last 5 kg is the hardest
Protein has an insulin response.

Esti din Ro ?

You’ve got 200g of fat for dinner plus cheese, bacon and homemade mayo throughout the day. Sounds like your fat intake is fully supplying your body’s energy demands and giving it no reason to burn body fat.

I am going to suggest,

WAY TOO MUCH DAIRY

You’re having a half pound of cream cheese and a half pint of HWC for dinner?

Why aren’t you eating hamburger patties or steak or chicken or fish? Eating vegetables doesn’t make you hungry, not eating a good amount of protein will. And dairy is a big time stall for many people. I would suggest limiting cheese to 1 oz per day and HWC for coffee or tea only. Get some avocados and various fats other than dairy.

My starting weight is 88kg and my corrent weight is 86. My goal weight is anywhere between 68 and 74. (I’m 5’10)

Thank you for your help

Mild caloric restriction but very careful to have all the nutrients and vitamins in the right amount. Cico dose not take into account nutrient and vitamin levels so you eliminate nutrients from the diet. Thus the body demand nutrients not calories yet the way it dose is through hunger.
Fore some keto beginers the first recommendation is to eat as much as they want to get nutrient and vitamin reserves up.

I also eat a shitton of cream cheese, but I am maintaining/gaining. While trying to lose weight, I limited the dairy and consolidated meals. Fat intake was my lever for weight loss with all other macros staying the same. I do not worry about high protein intake.

Butter is the best dairy. The above 80% fat one. I get my fats from butter… I eat butter like ice-cream, bite after bite.

These things straight up.

You may also add a bit more high quality protein. Always have eggs, fish or meat with your meals. Those proteins are equally as important for satiety as fat is. More hard to digest protein may also ruse your metabolism somewhat, without makung you hungrier. Your keto mousse should be an occasional dessert, not a main meal.

Vegetables are good as an addition to your fatty protein. If they make you hungry again quickly, I’d first suspect that you’re eating the wrong types, or not getting good protein. You don’t need them, but I can’t really imagine living healthy on cheese and cream.

Try to reach a Skaldemanratio of 1.2
Skaldeman means Fat : (Carbs + Protein ) =1.2
For example 29 : (0.4+20) = 1,4.

Similar to most of the above advice, I would drop your keto mousse, and replace it with a steak or 2. I think your main battle is to find foods that do not leave you hungry, and it looks like at the moment, that is not what you are eating. I would stick with bacon, eggs, steak, meat, with mayo, butter.

If you want to lose weight, I would also strongly recommend fasting. For me, the difference between losing weight and not is whether I fast.

You must never ever skip breakfast! Breakfast should be like a king! Because that gives you energy for all day long. Lunch should be normal (including veggies) and dinner should be as light as possible! Drink more and more water. So, then regularly going bathroom after a periodic interval will remove all your toxins. Stop taking mayo, cheese, cold drinks, and all other sweets. You are doing it all wrong, if you keep on taking this type of diet then you will never loose weight.
