Thank you for asking! I broke my fast last night, which was great, but I probably ate a bit too close to bedtime, and my sleep was a bit better but still not that good - woke up several times feeling agitated. And for the first time since before the fast I woke with my face puffy (I looked really good during the fast!). So either I didn’t sleep well because I ate late, or I still had extra cortisol and adrenaline from the fast and that affected my sleep, or … I don’t know, maybe this is my sleep this week and it has nothing to do with the fast?
Sept. 2018 IF / EF Chat ALL WELCOME
since I had that super duper high yesterday you are probably right…
I do always get tired on day 2 though, and going for my workout sort of helps me (my body probably goes into full blown keto fasting mode quicker. But that feels different…
slightly nauseated as well, don’t feel like eating at all which is weird… lets see what I’ll make for dinner…
38 hours in and feeling ok and not hungry this morning. Slept better than I usually do when I fast.
Hello again all you fasters! The last couple of days I really haven’t been “feeling it” so have done more of 22/2 protocol. I will see if I can make it longer than that this go around. KCFO!
OMAD is a good IF protocol. If your mind isn’t in the game for exfasting, don’t go there. Just enjoy the IF ride.
Great work everyone! Love seeing everyone building their fasting muscles.
65h in. Feeling a little hungry but not bad. Gonna drink some ketoaide soon and see if that satiates me.
I had to break my fast at 66 hours. I was hungry all night last night and all morning until lunch today. Even after drinking plenty of water and ketoade I just couldn’t shake the hunger. I’ll do some more 3 day fasts on a regular schedule to build my fasting muscles I suppose.
Well, I broke my fast at 21 hours. I was headachy and my heart was pounding and palpitating. Since I found out at the cardiologist today that all is not great with my heart, I broke the fast.
The heart issues are mentioned on another thread. Maybe I will just stick with mild extended fasting for now.
That’s me this week. I do the 18:6 almost daily, and eating very clean keto in that window. however, all you guys going 48+ have me hankering for that clean empty energized feeling. Maybe next week…
Just finished my first 48 hour fast. Didnt hit any real hard spots. Stomach rumbled a bit this morning, but nothing a little coffe and HWC couldn’t handle. This went by fairly easily, actually. I’m hungry, but not ravenous… 6 months ago I would be ripping people’s heads off because I was HANGRY! I had planned a 48 hour faststarting Monday, and with a weekend to feast in preparation, it should be even easier. Looks like even longer fasts are in my future…
My default goal in my Vora app is 72 hours but taking the new employee to lunch tomorrow so will break it at 65 hours.
And probably no dinner unless the weather strands me at the airport - otherwise, no time. And I don’t CARE!!!
62 hours in and feeling so much better on my 3rd day that it’s a shame to break my fast…
But my obligations at work dictate it so it is what it is. I can’t bend my social and business life around fasting - there is plenty of time to fast when I can work it in naturally.
Can anyone comment on using a PSMF in place of alternate day fasts?
I’m in my 12th week of ADFs and weight loss has slowed to virtually zero. I don’t think I’m gaining, but I think seeing one particularly low reading a couple of weeks ago was just a random anomaly.
If you’re doing PSMF, what does that look like to you? What do you eat in the course of a day?
If I should start another thread, let me know. I’m reading what to do for a PSMF and it looks pretty easy, but I get conflicting information.
I’m basically trying to figure if I should switch from ADFs to something else. But I don’t know what that something would be.
