15 hours in and no issues so far. I stopped for gas on my way to Ft Worth this morning and the station had [spoiler]BBQ cooking inside[/spoiler] when I went to use the restroom. Oh man. Only time so far my tummy has rumbled at me.

Well, he does state he has no proof of all this, but just his thoughts on it. And until one can provide scientific proof of something, it can all be conjecture until then. … Plus, I’m still not quite sure what he was trying to convey? Meaning what benefits specifically is he saying you won’t get, unless going that long with fasting?
I actually set a limit of 5 days for myself, even before getting into fasting. Could I go longer, I’m sure I could based off all the fast I’ve done so far, but to what benefit? Until I know those things, along with said mentioned proof, for me, 5 days is fine. As I’ve said before, for me, I actually start missing eating meals themselves. So I usually look forward to what I will eat when done, but can’t recall ending a fast because I was actually hungry?

Also, presently at 25.5 hrs. But have been under the weather some since Saturday night. So not sure if this will play into how far I go this week? … Not sick feeling or anything, but just not feeling right. And I had chills all day at work today, which is usually an indicator I’m coming down with something. (Thinking possible head-cold?)
Coming up on 24 hours for me and not really hungry. Sometimes the first night can be a bit uncomfortable trying to get to sleep on an empty tummy but I’m fine tonight.
I’m with you Dave - I don’t really see the point in fasting longer than 5 days unless you had a serious illness like cancer you were fasting to heal from.
My longest so far has been 90 hours. Usually something social comes up that I break my fast for, not hunger or the way I feel.
If I make it to Friday morning it will be around 104 hours. I have to drive to Houston on Friday midday for a retirement party for a dear friend and I want to break my fast that morning several hours before I get on the road, just in case… Plus I want to enjoy the party and be feeding normally.
I’ve worked with this lady for over 30 years. Pretty unusual in this day and age.
Hope you have a great time! … And yep, it’s usually something that comes up I will break for, but haven’t set a time or limit up for a while now. Just like to roll along, until we go out, or something up comes up. … But then I start missing fasting a day or two later.
… But like you mention, I like to break a day before doing something, especially if we’re going out, instead of chancing something could act up the tummy.
Just returned from the kitchen. I had to get out of there. Been fine all day, but when I went in to refill my water, I felt I needed something to eat. Luckily my husband just asked me, “why do you feel you need to eat now, you said you were fasting.” I said I felt like I wanted something in my mouth, I couldn’t say what I wanted to eat." He suggested I just remove myself from the kitchen, so I did and I am not feeling like I want to eat. Just put some salt under my tongue, letting it melt and I will finish off with some water. 24.4 hrs. of fasting now completed. Onwards to the next milestone.

That_ fat_ guy, I wasn’t too impressed by this guy. I’d go for a few months of IDM program or sign on with Dr. Ken Berry as my dr. instead of spending $$$ on this guy’s guidance. But you follow the path that feels right for you.

41h… first little hunger pang… drinking more tea and water… adding a tad salt.
Just do what’s right for you. I did 5 days with water and was pretty OK. Some people are OK with broth, tea, etc but for others it stirs up hunger. That guy on the 21-day video was saying just water, but that video had not a lot of substance.
I was going to fast this week but never got going because of slight illness I think. [spoiler]So I made it a switch to OMAD parsley tabouli (without the grains) with no protein for a few days instead[/spoiler] and i’m feeling better already.
I might fast next week if I feel better. I think this week i just needed the nutrients.
Coming up on 38 hrs. for me. … Feeling a little better this morning, but still a bit under the weather. Mostly a stuffy head. - So taking a couple days off, since I was taking Wednesday off already.
36 hours for me and feeling fine so far. Going to KCFO, stay busy at work and take a walk at lunch to avoid the lunch food smells.
I can hang out on the food porn thread while fasting with no issues, but the smell of food does bother me a bit. I can tune it out, but is easier if I just remove myself from it.
I only fast when I am on the road at work, so I don’t have access to a scale until after I get home and are several days out from re-feeding. So… I don’t know, exactly.
I can tell I am losing by the number of trips to the bathroom to pee, my rings and how lose my jeans get but as far as actual lbs lost and re-gained after re-feeding - no idea.
Probably a good thing! lol. Then I don’t have to worry about it. I am fasting for 2 reasons - autophagy and to maintain my weight. Plus I just enjoy the feeling of not eating after the first day. I am not as strict on carbs as I was the first 9 months so fasting helps burn up any extra glycogen that gets stored when I go over my carb allowances.
Not really. I make a double batch of ketoaid (mag citrate, lite salt) and sip on that during the day. Usually 2 a day when fasting, so 2 quarts of electrolyte water total. I also add a pinch of salt to my coffee to cut the bitterness and have 2 large mugs a day.
I’m at 43 hours… ish. I’ve had [spoiler]HWC in my coffee[/spoiler] which I don’t usually do when fasting. And a friend gave me [spoiler]dark chocolate and some nuts[/spoiler] yesterday. I ate enough to be polite since she had considered my diet when giving them to me. I’ll be ending shortly. I’ve noticed loose skin so I’m sure there is plenty of regular fasting in my future.
No definitive data on humans on what does and does not stop autophagy. Speculation based on mouse studies.
This week has been all OMAD and IF two meals 18/6 etc… Been a week since I have had 3 meals. Wow the weight is falling off 2 to 2.5 lbs a week, satiety is now a reality and my mental clarity and energy is very high.
My wife is not blinking and eye when I say I’m skipping… or no dinner for me tonight. I have even sat with my wife and oldest daughter when they have had dinner and not eaten. Who would have thought that possible?

Working on hr 39. So far so good it has been coffee/hwc and water&salt only. Feeling fine too.
@Janie, I can also view food porn, even recipes, but the smells get to me, so I stay out of the kitchen while DH prepares his meals… The kitchen itself is a trigger for me, so I run in get my filtered water or ketoaide, and leave.
Sounds like a lot of successes going on, glad to see that.
