my adrenals go nuts, my hormones get thrown off, and i get insane “withdrawal” headaches during fasting even when I have lots of it… I love coffee and I treat myself to one on weekends but my body just can’t handle it in bigger doses…

yes I do. even more when I have coffee to compensate for the sodium loss it causes.
Doesn’t change anything when I have those headaches unfortunately…

i Try to keep it at a minimum still… swiching more to herbal teas now that winter is aproaching.

I can handle the amount in greentea well,
I drink geentea most often actually.

I just go herbal and avoid anything fruity since they can have hidden sugars,
I go with spearmint, peppermint, roiboos or with fresh herbs and ginger around flu season (thyme, sage) or i add cinamon sticks to my ginger (awesome to help lowering BG apparently)

Tulsi is also really good.

I can’t have anything with fennel or licorice root in it, the thought of it alone makes me shiver :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes::stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:, so most premixed teas are out :roll_eyes::roll_eyes:

So this morning I woke up with a grumbly tummy. I believe my brain knows I am not eating today. Haha. I am going shopping during my lunch hour today to keep myself distracted. I have a work meeting/conference tomorrow so I may have to fast through lunch until dinner tomorrow depending what they are serving.

I actually prepped food for today at work but ended up fasting a full 24 hours as work was too insane to even allow me to stop and eat

Went for a 2 1/4 mile walk over lunch just to get out of the office. Weather was mild, nice breeze and it was pleasant walking down the Trinity River trail. Tomorrow rain and a cold front is moving in so may not get to walk tomorrow, but Thu should be nice.

42 hours in and feeling fine except I am cold. Only have an hour and a half and then I will be in my own car nd own room at my AirBnB and can set the temp to what is comfortable. For someone who can sweat is sub-freezing weather this is an odd sensation for me! :smirk:

I need to run by one of the Pappa’s restaurants here and pick up a couple of gift cards. They are a chain restaurant and there is a [spoiler]seafood[/spoiler] and [spoiler]Mexican[/spoiler] place in the same parking lot. Definitely avoiding the smells of [spoiler]Mexican food[/spoiler] one so I will get the gift card at the other one.

Sorry - this probably doesn’t make much sense with all the blurring but wanted to be polite!!!

Going to stay busy this evening by wrapping some Xmas gifts so I can deliver them to my (grown) kids this weekend and save to shipping costs.

19 hours in. My morning grumbling have long subsided. I am feeling excellent. I have a lot of extra little projects at work…helping to get things ready for the conference. I welcome the change in job duties. Drinking my San Pellegrino (standard fasting ‘lunch’). Happy fasting everyone

Just about 46 hrs. here, but I’ve been laying down all day and under the covers. Not feeling sick per se, but just that run down, extremely tired feeling you get with the flu or similar. Also running a slight fever. Think I may just eat something tonight to see if it helps. (Or speeds up this process) …either would be quite welcomed. :slight_smile:

54h. Sort of hungry after jumping around at the concert for 3h straight…
I will take my mag before going to bed and see how it goes.
Refeeding before bed is no option for me anyway…

I’m out at 46 hrs. It is snowing and getting colder by the min. here. I decided I wanted to eat some of the fresh lettuces we had to pick before the snow started up. Broke my fast with a small bowl of that and Dump Ranch dressing, added a very small tomato we had to rescue as well. Will have some roasted chicken more salad, and chocolate chia pudding for dinner soon.

73 hours into my 2nd fast ever :smiley: feelin great, planning on ending it tomorrow somewhere around the 90-94 hour mark after i finish my morning workout! would have liked to attempt to make it a full 5 days and go til thursday night had i started the fast earlier, however, i have a flight thursday afternoon and don’t want to risk starting to feel crappy on the plane. bummer :sob: this thread is legit. this site is legit. y’all are legit :call_me_hand: KCFO

48 hrs here and feeling good so far.

My AirBnB host told me his Mom, brother and SIL were all coming over for Halloween tomorrow and he was fixing food. Ugh. I have been here so much I am like family. He doesn’t do AirBnB anymore so I pay him cash and we both save the fees.

Anyhoo… I really wanted to go to Friday morning if I was feeling good… but don’t want to be rude. Maybe I can camp at the door to hand out candy and they won’t notice I’m not eating. It won’t be like a sit-down dinner or anything.

I’ll play it by ear and think of something. If I break tomorrow it will be 72 hours so not shabby. Not eating carbs is only thought to be mildly weird. Not eating AT ALL for multiple days is just unthinkable by those who have never fasted. Wacko weird! :rofl:

Yeah, I really don’t want to break it for a hot dog weenie! And I’m being a big weenie to not just tell him I am fasting.

If I am going to make up something I’ll just tell him I had to back to the plant to fix something and leave. They run 24/7 and I was on call for years so is plausible. Then I could just sit at a Starbucks and finish knitting the dinosaur hat I am working on for my grandson for Christmas.

Tell him it’s a health protocol, and you can’t eat carbs anyway. I have honestly started doing this, and it sounds official so people either shut up or want to know more.

OK, I alternate between this, my “religious reasons” one, and “I’m eating a ketogenic diet and I’ve lost 15 kilos, bitchez!” All of them seem to work, given I pick my crowd :slight_smile:

Yesterday I was supposed to do my 2nd OMAD in a row spoiler[/spoiler]. I’ve been OMAD and IF 18/6 for more than a week. But by 5 PM my hunger was real and deep. I’m not sure I ate enough [spoiler]Breakfast[/spoiler]. So I had dinner with my ladies. Ate to satiety.

It’s all good. Today will be a IF 18/6 day and tomorrow a OMAD again. I hadn’t experienced hunger yesterday like that in a while so I listened to my body and ate like people here say you should do.

I’ve lost 5 lbs in 10 days and broke my stall. So doing the Happy Dance.

@juice You may be right! Remember back when you asked if I was eating enough? Thinking maybe I wasn’t.

After several months of stabbing at longer fasts, for the past two weeks I’ve stuck with IF only, typically 18:6, sometimes 20:4. Been upping the protein, adding some cooked veg a few days a week. Down 3 lbs over the past two weeks. Steadiest loss over the past two months.

Sharing in support of IFing, as EF just don’t feel possible right now and enjoying the results of a less drastic plan.
