Well, Monday morning and 35 hours in. Will have breakfast when my wife gets up, so that worked to plan despite a few hiccups along the way.

I felt pretty bad Sunday afternoon - I was feeling “hungry” but I’m pretty sure that was just my brain telling me that because I just generally just felt like crap with a headache, so I ignored it. My PITA brain often hates me, so I’m pretty good at ignoring it. After a couple of weeks of the in-laws staying here in the apartment it would have been good if my wife wasn’t out for the day, but I was glad she was out doing stuff she wanted to do.

Really wanted to eat a little peanut butter as well, but ignored that too. Might go have a little now, though…

So I tried the 12/12 schedule. Made it four days. Threw me completely off my mojo. The final detail will be what I weigh tomorrow. I tracked my macros and stayed within the lines, but never felt quite right. Yesterday the window shrunk to about 6 hours between meals. Today, I didn’t eat until late afternoon and feel much better but still kinda bloaty. Not sure what it is about eating in the morning that doesn’t work for me, but this experiment is reinforcing how much I enjoy the 18:6 routine. If I’m up in weight tomorrow, will have to think about a bit of fasting to at least get back to where I was.

I want to fast, so baaadly, my body really really wants it… but there is still sooo much food from the party on sat that needs to go (all keto friendly though) I am sticking to one big fat omad meal a day until stuff is gone.
Then I’ll fast for as long as my body wants me to… Probably 5 days at least :sweat_smile::sweat_smile:

I hear you. Life gets in the way. This week I had the cardiologist for a stress test so I thought better of complicating that with fasting. Next week we have visitors - gotta be social :slight_smile: Maybe the week after that I’ll try my 5th 5-dayer.

This fasting has busted through my stall and left me with a good 5kg loss that’s holding.

Hi there Claudia. I’m in with you. The three day fast we did a couple weeks ago was great, but I want to try 5 days, OMAD this week. It’s a little easier for me to do OMAD and have dinner with my husband. We feasted so much over the weekend that my stomach is telling me to eat right now. Well, that’s not happening today. @Monurse had also mentioned she wanted to do it also. Are you in?

To be truthful, this is exactly what I was fearing with the 12/12. - I was just telling my wife this the other day. That on weekends, I can eat something in the mornings, but it’s never too early. Sometimes it’s actually closer to lunch. Like, on the very rare occasion, she has gotten up and made me something very early, (5AM) when she couldn’t sleep. And damn near every-time, it’s gave me a queasy, sick feeling to my stomach. But I’m not sure if this is due to the ride itself, which is an hour at least. Or if it’s just because it’s so early? … Either way, it’s not fun.

I suggest a five-day outback fast. Which just happens to coincide with the visitors. “Yeah, sorry, but that’s just the way it is. Seeya next week, dear. Have a nice stay, guys.”

So after a 5 day unhealthy binge (one turned into 5…oh my) I decided to do a quick 24 hour fast. It will probably be closer to 25 as I have to pick up some food for the week. I am so over and done with eating out.

My first 4 day fast starts in 5 minutes. Three days was a breeze (after day two :wink:), so I’m really looking forward to this.

Precisely why I will most likely not repeat the 12/12 experiment. @Shortstuff Allie, if you decide to give this a go, will be interested in your results.

4 days 12/12, then a 18:6, then a day completely off the rails [spoiler](including a crap ton of fried potatoes and cake and a cookie),[/spoiler] yesterday was more like 20:4. This morning? Lowest weight so far. 214. I measure once a month and expect loss in both waist and hips.

@juice Mic, you’d suggested I needed to eat more and yes, now that I’m tracking and thinking back to previous weeks, I think I was steadily eating less, not really fasting but restricting. Going to continue the tracking for a few weeks and see if I can get the weight moving down again.

Actually, I still plan to give it a go, since we’ve been speaking on it. I do want to know how it will effect me as well, but to be honest, I am expecting this result as well. … But I have to ask, what the!..

Though I absolutely love fried potatoes, and it’s probably the only way I truly like potatoes, besides the occasional Baked or in especially in Potato al gratin, was your adding more foods to include quite starchy/carby foods? … Or was this a joke? You just really have me curious. :slight_smile:

Oh, and the problem I’m really having is how to go about doing the 12/12. I’m up at 5AM, and out the door by 6AM. So I either have to eat sometime in that timeframe, while getting dressed, taking all the dogs out, etc. (Which will probably feel rushed) Or carry it to work and eating after 7AM when I get to my office. And then I will have to wait until after 7PM to eat. Which I try not to eat passed 6PM, since I’ve never liked eating late and then sleeping on a meal. (Just never been my thing) … But I will still do it, in any case. Just can’t be this week. I’m actually on rotation for Jury Duty for the next 3 weeks, as well, I have to be at work this Friday for our Annual Snow Dry Run, and all Managers have to be at work at 3:30AM, so I will be getting up between 1:30-1:45AM to do this. … So I will either try to start this somehow over the weekend, and maybe the first part of the week, or set it up starting Monday? … Will have to think it over some. :slight_smile:
