Nuts on keto

Thanks. Will it automatically update the bookmark or do I need to re-bookmark it? I am not super computer, forum or social media savvy.

Ok, I just re-bookmarked it in case. I can’t wait to make this!

That’s a weakness of mine, too!

Hi there! I am eating about 70 gr. of pecans almost everyday. I am doing this because I was so in love with all kind of peanuts, but I think it is better to eat pecans. I have no problem about ketosis while eating this quantity but I think it depends on your body. This is my experience in these 7 weeks on keto lifestyle. Already lost 35 lbs !!!

(Gary) #45

Is Peanut Butter considered Keto or should it be avoided in favor of other nut butters?

(Autumn Sangra) #46

Nuts and nut butter are my biggest weakness!

(Kel Ta) #47

I love walnuts and eat some every day. But I am keto for digestive and energy maintenance reasons mostly… TBT once in a while I will even make a keto chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. It’s. really. good. No sugar sweeteners!

(mwall) #48

cruel to post such a sight and no reference to the recipe… :crying_cat_face:

Peanut butter can absolutely fit into a ketogenic diet, just watch the carbs. I have a great article for you that the dude :richard: wrote…

Zero nuts, due to being in recovery from food addiction. Also most nuts trigger migraines for me. I’ve adjusted over time. Don’t miss those migraines

I like about a teaspoon of peanut butter on a little square of dark chocolate for an evening snack. I think I’ll switch to almond butter and try that.

@ketana
Recipe for that keto peanut butter frosting cake please?

(mwall) #53

Here’s my fav…
I think it may be the @ketana based hers on… :yellow_heart:
Chocolate fudge, ganache and peanut buttercream cake

#54

I find it better with hazelnut butter. It takes it into the Nutella tasting category.

omg, mwall! I am so sorry… I thought it was cruel just to post that photo… but couldn’t help it bc I love peanut butter and chocolate! It is truly as good as it looks!
:joy:
Ok so I use the cake recipe from lowcarbyum here http://lowcarbyum.com/best-low-carb-chocolate-cake-recipe/, although I do alter it a bit ( no monk fruit sweetener, just erythritol/stevia powdered and no cinnamon) and I add more fat. The frosting I borrowed from alldayIdreamaboutfood here: http://alldayidreamaboutfood.com/2014/02/dark-chocolate-peanut-butter-layer-cake-low-carb-and-gluten-free.html

(mwall) #57

So I can tell you that the one I linked is THE bomb!! Thanks for the update and tips!

(Kel Ta) #58

I’ll have to try it out! Thanks for the recipe swap!

(Mizanur Hussain) #59

Hey just wanted to know are smoked salted almonds ok to consume, if they are how many can I eat?

(Stickin' with mammoth) #60

What does the nutritional label on the side of the can/jar say?
