My story and if hungry do you eat more protein or fat?

So true!! I’m injured and so stressed about missing work and perhaps that’s why I’m hungry every 2-3 hours despite being full at each meal… but then again it’s just the very beginning… I’ll wait this out.

If ya can’t decide between fat and protein, a near perfect compromise is an egg. It’s real food, and for me, eggs are quite satiating.

Just a suggestion.

I started low carb with higher fat, then read Jimmy Moore’s book (forget the title), where he advocated high fat, then I went very high fat. I then read Ted Naiman’s posts and tried higher protein. Now, I’m primarily higher protein, low fat, though I still eat some “normal” “keto” meals.

As for Marty’s site, I’m not so sure about it. I think he lets data get in the way of how people really are, and his data sets are often incredibly specific, such as being limited to only those people who track calories. That’s a very select group of people.

Thanks for all the tips everyone. Sorry I didn’t respond until now. Had some reality dropped on me this week. Anyways good news. After upping sodium and no-salt/potassium, using the electrolyte drops, and taking the Cal/Mag/Zinc supplement things are much better. I’m not starving anymore and I have been able to keep fasting. I’ve tried to not eat too much excess protein and it was easier since I still felt a little sick as I kept the carbs low still. Yesterday and today I don’t feel quite so bad. I tried to not have any processed meats. I did once I think. Same with dairy. I think I had cheese once also.

Also good news is down 3 pounds this week. But that’s just a bonus as my main goal was just to not be starving all the time.

I’m interested in knowing what you all recommend for no carb electrolyte and mineral supplements. I feel pills are much easier for me. But the pills I got only have
500 mg calcium
250 mg magnesium
15 mg zinc

And it says to take 6 a day. Is that about normal or are there better options that are not too expensive? I was thinking it would be better to have a higher dose so less pills but maybe the point is to take throughout the day so a constant supply. It does say better to take with food. But clearly I need to take while fasting also.

My liquid drops have
45 mg magnesium
375 mg Chloride
125 mg sodium
100 mg potassium
3 mg Zinc

I have been having them in my coffee and homemade broth. I feel like they are a pain but can keep using if they are going to do more than a pill can.

One other thing worth noting is i was having aching pain in side of my back for the last couple weeks. It dawned on me yesterday it’s my kidneys. I went online and read up on the Uric acid issue with Keto and lots of protein and especially when very LC and fasting. I guess pretty common. I started drinking lemon water last night. Will also try the other options baking soda or ACV if needed. We will see how it goes. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Oh yeah I’m a mess as well. I know I have binging issues. But outside of that the starving hunger pains where my biggest issue. Now that I seemingly have that under control I can get my head in the game.

Love them both. I have to be careful with pork rinds. I know I’m an over eater. So starting on these can be bad.

I love deviled eggs. I need to make some. It’s such a time commitment though lol!
