quicky post…got things to do, people to see, well, no people, more like a ton of things to do…lol…simple zc day. Got ribeyes defrosting and will eat up a lb. of shrimp in my day also. just in a surf and turf feeling mode. got burgers as normal extra if required. I am on ‘rinse and repeat ZC’ at this point in my life, I love it!

Isn’t it nice when people dont immediately look for the negatives when we mention our zc woe? I hope he likes what he hears on the podcast. I think one of the main barriers is the worry about the cost and we know how little it costs and in fact it is more expensve to do other eating plans especially counting the cost of wastage!

Fortunately Judy, i no longer work at the prison, if you recall i took Ill Health retirement at the end of September.

Today’s pic , first plate at 2500 calories, will follow up with eggs in a bit with daughter

That cheese omelette looks like a masterpiece

Lamb and beef continue as 2MAD dinner options. Cooler weather, so the hot ZC dinners have that warm comfort to them. Mrs. Bear likes to fry cheese, so halloumi on the plate as well. Eggs and bacon for the other meal.

That friend with the joint pain got some help. They have found a naturopath that has helped them relieve some pain as they can’t see a specialist joint doctor until December.

The biltong shop was not closed it opened again after a freshen up. I have no problem eating 400g air dried raw beef in a car drive.

I have also tested the methylene blue lozenges and it is better than coffee for alertness on my regular 3 hour commutes. It’s a tiny dose compared to the side effect filled IV dose used to treat people in alcoholic liver failure.

It’s a cool blue sky Monday morning, so I’m looking forward to a hot breakfast.

@Karen18: Beautiful food! I really would like to eat such a pretty omelette or beef dish when my hunger arrives
Maybe I make a fluffy omelette today. I will get out the whisk anyway.

I hope I will have a better week. My sleep wasn’t right for days and I am very sensitive to that, I easily become a full day zombie is anything is off. It’s not enough to sleep 7 hours, I need to sleep between 3 and 6am and if possible, without any interruption. As days passed, I felt worse and worse regarding zombieness due to not right sleep. Yesterday was bad and I made it worse to write on the forum very late, I ended up writing a small comment for an hour, rewriting it… I can do so stupid things sometimes.

But now I slept okay. Still not oh so well but of course, it’s still morning on a rainy day… But I don’t have sleep deprivation, it’s amazing!

Yesterday we went for a walk in the nearby forest and found out it’s the very beginning of the primula season! Simple yellow ones only  I can be so happy seeing those tiny things  We saw other flowers as well, like ZILLIONS of violets… And many bumblebees and the like.

I strayed off a bit in the weekend but not very much, I expected and kind of planned much worse. I mean, I had the valley part of my enthusiasm and even wanted to make some old recipe I did so long ago… I pretty much allowed myself a lot, nothing wild though… And I didn’t do most of it due to lack of interest. So I tested myself again and it was better than ever.

I ate up my pork roast and the deer dish, lots of eggs and not very little dairy as usual, among others. But mostly these with some extras. We drank a liter of milk again, well Alvaro ate his share as usual. He never actually drinks milk.

I have notes but didn’t track yet, not like it’s particularly interesting but as always, I am curious.

I have defrosted my last slab of pork chuck for today (I fry some and probably roast the rest with 2 chicken legs tomorrow, I won’t put that little piece into the oven alone and variety is nice anyway) and Alvaro gets some cheesy fluffs for his carbs. But there will be 3 quiche muffins too, 2 for me. The sour cream started to change, it won’t stay good for long so I use it liberally today. And my quiche uses a lot. I find it a tad tastier with cream but sour cream works well too and we always have or can buy it for a reasonable price unlike cream. I never buy cream here as it’s so very expensive. The right supermarkets in the city have it for an okay price but I forgot to buy enough last time and it’s fine as having much cream goes against my coffee quitting plan. Not like it goes particularly well without but I still have better chances.

Ginger seems to be all well, as Alvaro said she climbs the silver birch tree (a dog was around) like kittens without stitches
We put her outside, I don’t want her in my room since she peed on my bean bag. It was time to wash it anyway but I was a tired zombie at 1am and she was with me on the bean bag, not showing she would need something.
But she is like always, cute and purring and everything. She doesn’t even bother her stitches. The vet always talk about putting a big sock on the cat… We tried that with the first one. She went CRAZY, she was SUPER miserable, it was heartbraking for all the seconds taking it off required. We didn’t try again and the girls didn’t try to get out the stiches. Maybe Pie but even she didn’t do much harm.

So we have peace again. The boys disappeared even before the surgery.

Alvaro expressed his interest in the fried hake fish in the freezer some time ago so he will get it soon to make more space in the freezer (he will eat the bag of mixed vegs too with it. I dislike bags of vegs being in the tiny freezer but it has to be done sometimes. I always make sure it’s never long lasting, I NEED the space). Wonderful farm pork is coming on Friday!!!

Apropos pork. I don’t understand. I got out fried pork chuck from the freezer 2 times in the last days as I needed something different or something meat (I run out of meat yesterday and was still hungry. I can’t always predict how much will be enough for me). And… I don’t like the taste. I always liked pork chuck (until the one with skin last time but it’s another) and fried fatty pork is amazing to me, even the freezer can’t change it much… But now it didn’t feel so great. I can eat it when hungry but that’s it.
Maybe it’s some new, odd phase. Disconcerting. Pork chuck was the cut I could depend on as I loved it so much. And it’s not another not so great piece as I liked the part I ate before. If I have a whole not too small slab, I tend to eat some of it fried, some of it roasted. And even if I fry it all, I put some into the freezer for worse times.

HI ALL ZC PEOPLE!
fast post again. weather changing to wonderful and got alot of landscape issues to handle around my barns and more…weeds? who ever on this earth thought weeds were good idea to have? well I know it was nature and more LOL but honestly to combat them is hell some days. If I don’t ‘stay on my farm work’ I lose control and I never want that but the older I get, yea I don’t care, but I do care, but darn, gotta sell this farm and move to the coast to worry only about some seagulls crapping on me maybe HAHA

ZC simple. Yesterday ended up being 1.12 lb. ribeye steak. then second meal, 1/2 big chicken breast and 10 jumbo shrimp in seasoned butter for dip. Good eatin’, good zc life!

So APRIL…someone shoot out a name.

I like this, whimsical and overly long but why would that be a bad thing?

I had lunch and now I am chill  It was a very decent sized lunch, not big at all, perfect for TMAD!
I wasn’t sure I will have a meal so I didn’t prepare anything for myself. But yep, I decided I need a meal so I made a quick (not fluffy) cheesy omelet! And the leftover fried pork chuck I don’t like as much as usual but very good for a hungry one in smaller amounts.
I had a tiny leftover deer goulash but almost just the liquid with a few tiny piece of meat. I so love deer, I am happy with my pork but it’s nice to eat deer (or some other ruminant) here and there!
It wasn’t enough so I had a boiled egg and my last soft sausage. Now I am just nicely satiated, not very much so dinner will be welcomed but I think I can last until then? I don’t know but hopefully. I had a little egg milky coffee as well, tomorrow I will try to quit coffee again…

The cats are all inside (4, oh my god, it’s so many!), they were outside for days and now there is a rainy cooler weather.

(Judy Thompson) #214

@Karen18 absolutely! Love that name!

#215

I wasn’t hungry at dinnertime but I had nice fresh fried pork chuck and thought I will try… I ate a decent amount of it (and some coffee) but that’s it. At least my dinner was simple! And now I track. I think I ate a lot today even though I didn’t finish my dinner satiated (but I was fine and I knew I had to eat enough).

Oh. I thought it will be an overeating day but nope. 147g protein though (in my world it’s kind of modest though I aim for a bit less if possible!). And way less fat, not like I have much idea about it, my pork chuck gave me 30g lard and it’s unusual so maybe it was fattier than normal (but then it’s lost a lot of it…). Or maybe because I managed to made it less than half its weight in the end  I fried it well  It took about 30 minutes, I often let it alone. Very easy food, why would I overcomplicate it when it’s already near perfection…?

A bit over a pound of meat for today. Good day.
I had TMAD with a 4.5 hour eating window.

I wanted to show my beautiful fried pork (not like you didn’t see such a thing from me before) but all the CF cards downstairs were full, we really need to do something with the photos on them, I usually handle mine but not always after some big bird shooting mission at the pond…

Good evening from VA! And an overly liverwursted girl who is here to prove ZC is possible in the direst of circumstances.
We stopped on the road and I got 2 hot dogs yesterday at a place with a computerized order system. No way to say no bun but I could get cheese and bacon on it and scrape off any stuck bread and thus my first hot meal in 2 days. Not grainy like the truck stop dawg, not too bad.
We got home about 8 lastnight and went to our place, where we’ve gone for years. I’d thought of steak or chops but the prices were through the roof (who pays $50 for a pork chop!!) so I got a bunless bacon cheeseburger. Meh but who cares. At least the bacon was crispy.

This morning we fulfilled our reason for coming - we saw our tax guy. Then we went and I bought a new laptop for streaming online and then went to the diner for breakfast. I tried the bacon egg cheeseburger again, wasn’t too bad. I’ve missed my own cooking but I can’t shop til Wednesday as tomorrow is busy with meetings and students AND I don’t drive the big utility van so I am always chauffered. Around here, in the city, one needs one’s car if it’s just to run to the store!
After tomorrow, no students til Saturday and no gigs at all this trip, we turned them down.

Lastnight I dreamed I ordered a salad. Pretty sad when the most audacious crime you can imagine is lettuce with Italian dressing.

#217

I recognise a few of the practitioners in that preview clip. Thanks for sharing it @Fangs. I wish I had dramatic music following me around in my day.

#218

:scream:

At least the bacon was crispy.

All bacon (or at least the stripe ones, surely some nice dishes incorporate soft mini bacon cubes) must be crispy if you ask me. Well, crunchy for me. 100% crunch… It’s the only reason I ever buy stripy bacon.

I only had a few food dreams on carnivore I think… Or maybe one other before? But I don’t remember what was in it. Not a salad. I always hated almost all salads as they typically include green leaves and that’s ew. I still could dream about them I suppose but nope.

I recognized 2 women, it’s a lot considering I basically never watch videos involving carnivore or keto eating… But sometimes it happens.
Yep, it was nice to watch it, @Fangs! So there will be a series… I wondered if Alvaro would watch it with me… His interests lay elsewhere and he is a die hard high-carber. And he gets way too much information about carnivore and nutrition from me, apparently… When he, the cinnamon roll with love in his heart towards me gets impatient, that’s a sign

I lost my satiation last evening/night at 11pm… Oh well. 179g protein for yesterday. I enjoy my food immensely. This morning I couldn’t resist eating cheese whisps, I think I fell in love with it again… But I am very much satiated so it was just a few bites. 100% crunch

I have read the newer stuff in the egg fast thread again… Maybe a similar small meal as a start would be good in days like today when I had much protein the previous day and have little meat (I make roast later but they won’t be ready for lunch and I probably will eat lunch again)… I got ideas, I put it together with some of my ideas… Maybe no one will be able to recognize the “egg fast” when I am done with it! The original is insanely fatty, no way I do that again, not even for 1 hour (as I don’t plan to do it longer anyway. it would be just a fatty start of a meal, something I almost never do. I need pork jowl for that, after all and it never lasts long). IDK why I was better with fat fast when that’s even fattier… Probably because I wasn’t limited so much.
We will see but now I try to eat according to plan. Vaguely. I don’t limit myself but I have a plan, I start with that, it’s nice so I will eat according to it to some extent and I will notice if I go astray and will have some idea if I risk protein overeating again.

A gloomy day again. With SNOW. Just some snowflakes here and there and it obviously melts immediately but still. I don’t want snow. The cats don’t want it either. They want to sleep in my bed, generously shedding their fur on it (it’s that time). We have conflicting interests. I only let Cloud in, she didn’t start to process yet unlike Pie. Or she do it in some odd ways but I even petted her and nothing. Little Ginger has the right to be anywhere but after the surgery and the days spent inside near it, she usually enjoys her freedom outside, climbing trees and doing other things kittens do, stiches or not.
We are still heating but less and less. Not at night anymore. Not during the day either. Just in the morning and in the evening a bit.
My activity level went down in the last few/several days and it’s hard to me to bring myself to raise it again when there is no sunshine. I slept for so long again, I hope my body will function properly now.

@JJFiddle, I SO get ya on an outrageous price for a chop or steak!! I can’t buy it either and won’t. I hit a restaurant with hubby and see a nice filet mignon at $75 and think, omgosh I can buy a bulk filet mignon and eat like a queen for such a savings. I can’t pay it either and still now won’t ever do it…like you I default to the cheapest to eat out and think, home, home is where I shine on my food

So great you have no gigs or anything. Some free time to get stuff handled and relax a bit cause the way your posts read, you guys WORK and are slapped hard with the gigs lining up for ya…glad you do get down time, even if on the road between TX and VA

ahhh, that crunch! I so love a good crunch also!

again, I so get you on this! we are in some gray days with dark clouds and misty rainy times but temps are improving and ‘they’ promise sunshine to come…but like you truly sun makes me vibrant and alive, dull gray days truly drag me down.

@FrankoBear, yes it is gonna be DUN DUN DUNNnnhhhhh type tv series. I am glad it is more focused on reversing health issues and not like some take off of ‘biggest loser’ and focused on weight and unsustainable diet and lifestyle  I am really interested to see how this rolls out.

-------------got stuff to handle today. some financial stuff, kid stuff she requires, stuff hubby needs handled and then mother in law not feeling good in her facility, waiting on testing they are doing and other ‘stuff on me’ ya know. I feel ‘very very behind the 8 ball’ lately. I was one to never be behind, now I feel behind all the time…lol…age? yea probably. Can’t do 150 things at once, plus I don’t wanna do 160 things at once anymore older i get  Ahh, adjustment time somehow for me on the brain game of it all.

zc day simple. got a beef tenderloin on markdown from smokehouse store down the road. will eat that first, probably pair with 2 egg cheese omelet since meat is not alot, about 8 oz filet…then tonight will just do cheeseburgers…or naked burgers if I eat the cheese with eggs if I do that. Might do like 3 scrambled with the tenderlion steak maybe…leave that cheese for the burgers later  I don’t like alot of cheese anymore in my day…so will see how that goes down.

Oh edited to say yesterday I baked a sheet cake. Yup. I rarely ever did bake cause I don’t like the kitchen anyway…but hubby said I want a cake. Ya never buy much sweet stuff anymore, like well, hmm, DUH…haha…so at the store a freakin’ nice cake was like $17.99. WTH? for sugar? Near with tax $20. Nope. I hit the aisle and got a boxed on sale golden vanilla cake for like 2.50 on then bought chocolate frosting on sale for $2.29 and done. So for around 5-6 doillars I made him and kiddo a nice cake  Pretty store bought don’t matter, all they want is the sugar intake LOL BUT OMGOSH I got flashbacks like no tomorrow…eat the batter from the bowl…then when frosting it, of course lick the spoon and lick the inside of the frosting tub too HAHA I had to restrain myself literally and it smelled so good baking, that ‘darn good carmelized sugar’ smell we all love and adore…but I did well. I did nothing. The carby family is eating down that cake quickly now  OK enough cakes in this house for a good while!

(Karen) #220

Hahaha love that … dreamng of a salad :joy::joy::joy: nightmare of all nightmares! :astonished:
