Because the start is fun, the finishing is work

It’s the same with almost anything like that, including - trust me - writing[1]. The initial idea brings a burst of enthusiasm, but then you have to grind the details in order to get it finished.

It’s why starting is easy and finishing is a vast amount more difficult.

Anyone can start things.

[1] I started my noobs guide in November, published it at the start of this year.

So glad I stumbled on this thread! My life revolves around craft. I’m an indie dyer of yarn, fibre and various other textiles.

You know what? If I ever get hold of the idiot who started this thread, I’m gonna beat the crap out of him. It’s not like I didn’t have any number of OTHER threads that ate all my likes…

Omg! Your like Edward Chainsaw Hands?

I would of chopped off one of my body parts trying to do that!

I imagine a sander was used?

(Jane) #89

OMG. I just drooled onto my phone. Do you sell it on Etsy or some other venue. I love your colorways!

(Duncan Kerridge) #90

It was too massive to sand, it’s about 7 foot tall!

The final finish was using one of these, it’s called a Holey Galahad

I thought it was there for scale

(Hyperbole- best thing in the universe!) #93

Are you spying on me?

(Ellen) #94

I apologise in advance for my abysmal photography, but some of my Mum’s below, they’re much better than I show them.
I love dogs but can’t have one so Mum made me one.

Then she did me a cushion to snuggle with as it’s cold.

(Running from stupidity) #95

Does photography count?

(Hyperbole- best thing in the universe!) #96

I think we’ve established, yes, it is an art form.

(Janelle) #97

Especially when it involves chocolate.

(KCKO, KCFO) #98

You bettcha it does.

(Katie) #99

What are you doing with the wrappers?

(Troy) #100

I’m a FL girl and love shelling on the Gulf beaches and making shell crafts. Here are a few of the things I make…
