Hello.
I’m a 31 year old guy from England currently weighing 193lbs at 5 foot 5 inches in height.
For as long as I can remember I have been a slave to carbohydrates in all forms such as sweets (candy), fizzy drinks (soda), fast food and gallons of beer.
I have tried all types of diets over the years such as Slim Fast etc but never seen the results I wanted because in all honesty I could never give up the toxic junk food that is so prevalent in western society.
I decided to go Keto 4 days ago after being advised by my gym instructor that it was the only way to really lose weight and after watching countless YouTube videos and reading Keto blogs I understood the diet and it excited me.
I wouldn’t say I have fully reached Ketosis yet as my carb intake is still around 35-40/50g but for the amount of carbs I was previously on I feel like I’m doing the world of good.
I already feel a bit more sculpted in places and my thinking feels clearer than ever before but I am having some strange effects that I wanted to run by you all to see if they are normal.
Apart from the daily headache, constipation etc I am suffering from a fast, booming heartbeat that I am constantly aware of and sudden bouts of hot body flushes mixed with a terrible feeling of anxiety and nervousness with a sort of adrenaline feeling in my chest.
Are these normal for someone who all of a sudden starves their body of all the processed crap they used to eat or something else not related to going Keto.
I have behaved so far and followed what I understand to be the Keto rules such as 2ltrs of water a day, pink Himalayan salt with every meal, light bouts of exercise, sensible amount of protein with every meal with added fats such as coconut oil, butter etc, 85% dark chocolate and trying to eat 2 solid meals a day.
I really want to stay on this Keto journey because I feel it will eventually give me the beach body I have always envied but I don’t want to harm myself drastically if you understand what I mean.
