I trust mine about as much as I trust the non-weight data I used to get from my “smart” scales.
I did HOURS of housework yesterday and it eventually showed 104 minutes of activity. But given I did five+hours of pretty constant and reasonably vigorous work, that’s not all that accurate. And I get steps for standing at the sink washing the frying pans.
When this one dies I suspect I’ll not bother replacing it.

to be serious, though - the younger generations are pretty darn good these days, better than mine, I’d say. Aware of some things to a higher extent that we (Baby Boomers) are/were, less prejudiced… I think there is a contiuum of improvement going on, generation-by-generation. Not that it has to get better nor that it always will; hegemonies end, civilizations fall, etc.

What’s funny is that there are plenty of legitimate things we could be made fun of for. While Baby Boomers have their “let me speak to your manager” mode, my gen makes death threats against creators on Twitter because they didn’t make their OTPs canon. But nah, Boomers just keep chastising us because we’re broke and like our phones and stuff.

I don’t chastise younger people for anything. I know that their ideals, dreams, and souls will eventually be crushed like ours were. I was once as cool as they are, and they will eventually be as uncool as I am. It’s an endless cycle.
