21.5 hours. Just ready to get out of work. Much less boredom at home. And a puppy!
I went keto Dec 2012 and it basically took me 3-1/2 years to lose and maintain a 30 lb loss. I quit drinking wine and all alcohol and lost another 30 lb in 3-1/2 months.
Aengus gets brushed, but so far his fur doesn’t seem like he’s going to need it cut. That little sausage was 22.2lbs yesterday. He’s getting bigger than I had anticipated.
I’m in. Starting now. First Zorn Fast.
Aiming for 96. Water and salt.
And meditation. And sleep. And walks.

I use course ground sea salt About every hour or so I place a few grains under my tongue. I also sometimes take “Calm” (a magnesium supplement) other times I’ll take a bath with Epsom salts.
I found I was still able to fast when I had the flu. But I kept them shorter (46 to 64 hours).
I’m at 115 hours in. I was feeling a little off this morning, and thought maybe I’d have to stop. But I doubled down on water and salt and I’m feeling fine now. I think I just got dehydrated overnight. Since I started my fast on Saturday night, I’ve lost 9 pounds and my Ketones are at 4.7 mmol/L. (I normally bounce between 1 -2 mmol/L when I’m not fasting).

I was thinking about that today… I’m realizing how often eating is just a distraction, a break, or a boredom-fix. When I’ve had moments of “thinking about food” today (vs actual hunger), I’ve been able to step back and recognize/acknowledge that it’s mostly just a boredom itch.
This cold is kicking my ass. I feel horrible. Also starving. At 22hrs.
I wanted to join in on the fast but I don’t think it’s a good idea this time bc I’ve been sick all week with upper respiratory/ flu. I’m taking Tamiflu and it requires that I eat with it.
I have a question: about a month ago, I did my first 5 day fast and was really proud of myself. I lost about 5 lbs. Immediately after, I gained it all back. I have been super-hungry. After that, I tried the alternate day method of fasting for about 10 days. That did not work for me at all. On the days, I was eating, I couldn’t control myself and overate on carbs and food in general. Since then, I’ve gained 5 more lbs.
So I’m trying to stick to strict keto for now. I also think my body might be under a lot of stress from being sick.
Any thoughts, I welcome all input
Me as well! I’ve also had to catch myself absentmindedly grabbing whatever I was making for the family.
You guys are awesome, I feel great! I’ve been IF a few times, but only at 16:8. I’m about to successfully finish 24hrs in about 2.5hrs!!! I apologize for the newbie question for the moment. If I consumed bcaa’s while working out earlier, does that turn this fast into boo boo?
