You know, someone posted a recipe (or picture?) for SOS on “what did you keto today?” recently! Seriously, take care of you, and feel better soon. You don’t want the nasty flu bugs to get you while you’re down!
Ok… I’m in! I’m at 14.5 hours now. My first EF attempt was January’s Zorn fast but it ended up being a normal IF day… so this will be my first EF, and I’m planning for either 72 or 84 hours. If I make it to 72hrs it will be 8pm Saturday, so if I feel ok I may just sleep and break the fast on Sunday morning (84hrs)
This time I’ve planned, prepared, and I’m ready. I feasted yesterday. I slept pretty well. I’m taking a couple of “me days” off work.
I’ve been keto for 7 months (some of it lazy keto in the earlier months) and IF for about 2 months.
I won’t lie, I’m still nervous about this! Longest I’ve gone is 20 hours. So glad I have this community to do this with.
I get not wanting to look at the food pics, even though it doesn’t really bother me personally. I still go over to “What Did You Keto Today” to look at the beautiful food-porn, LOL.
Along those lines, the wife will be doing a 24 hour fast from noon today through noon tomorrow, so I won’t have to cook for her tonight. Will probably have to cook for my daughter, but I can get through that okay.
The only difference so far in my daily routine is no caffeine. Although I did wake up in the middle of the night upset because I thought I had already broken my fast by eating an entire rotisserie chicken. Random.
I could use some “salt ingestion” tips. Especially on a fast, what do you do to get more salt? I don’t really relish eating 1.5 tsp of Lite Salt today, but if I must … (as a side note, 4 servings of Keto-ade are already on the plan)
I shake it onto my hand and have a lick. LOL. Not real lady like I’m sure, but it works. Of course the tequila is missing.
I did 108+ hours last month only snacking on salt. I’ll likely do the same this go round.
Fasting is easier for some than others. Once it becomes more difficult, I’ll look into all the complicated things people do. For now I’ve found keeping it simple has been the best path.
I’m an ex-drinker and I still have drinking dreams. The subconscious works in mysterious ways.
I dream about what I don’t want. When I quit drinking I’d dream about it. Doesn’t happen anymore, but it did during the first couple weeks.
Working on hr. 14. Got a big motivator this AM. I stepped on the scale and had bounced over my 3 lb. limit. I’m still below my original goal weight, just higher above the second goal that I had obtained during maintenance.
I had planned to do an autophagy oriented fast with water and salt only, instead, I am going for weight loss, so sipping coffee with some HWC and have my handy pink salt near by. I had already made a large batch of broth, since I had the bones around, so I have that to lean on if it is necessary.
As for the food porn here today, doesn’t bother me, but I know others do have issues with it. I am always looking for good keto recipes, and fasting gives me plenty of time to do that. Not everyone can though so please be mindful of that and use the blur function. Here is the link, it is how to swear, but it is details on how to blur comments.
