Thank you Madeleine
February Zorn Fast 2018
I’ve not fasted in a long time and I’m worried about how
well I will do. I last had solid food yesterday at 8:00pm. I’ve been doing fine until about a 1/2 hour ago I started having some pretty major hunger pains, hoping they go away.
DISASTER!!!
24 hrs in… I just checked my macros and I was >95% carbs!!! There was 1g in each of my 2 electrolyte drinks and 1g in a dill pickle spear.
Well, that’s it, I guess I’m a carb burner again
So terribly sorry you ladies have lost people dear to you. It sucks and it hurts. Healing thoughts to you both.
22 hours flew by, I have a bad habit of forgetting to eat so I can do this. My BG was 209 at noon and just now it is down to 143. I’m really hoping to get off the Bydureon and prove to my doctor there is another way.
So far all I’ve consumed is plain water and the ketoaid…
@Corinna, I’ve gotten of Lantus and Bydureon. I had an A1C as high as 10.7% and now it’s at 4.4%. I think the combination of Keto and Fasting is what made me successful. You can do it! (By the way it took me about 6 months to get off Lantus, and another 3 to get off Bydureon.)
Oh that is great news! Congrats on your progress!
My A1C was 10 when my doctor first tested it. It dropped to 7.9 after a few months of keto. Last fall it was down to 6.7 I think. My next test is mid April and I hope to be nearer to 5. My doctor wanted me to do insulin but I convinced him to try Bydureon as none of the oral meds were working for me.
I’ve been reading about Jason Fung for the past year and finally decided I had to try this!
My story isn’t unusual. I’m confident you will be able to add your name to the list of those who have reversed their Type 2 diabetes through Keto.
Keep Calm and Keto On!
I find this to be especially common with LMHRs. And you are like a proxy LMHR, which is what is so fascinating. You seem to have a lot of things in common with them, though with more mismatches.
I suspect both you, myself, and LMHRs are having a quicker downshift of basal metabolic rate relative to everyone else which is why there’s a puny, lethargic feeling being described. This would make sense when one is very lean mass as they don’t have a lot of energy stores (read: fat mass) to draw on. (I’m sure this possibility would be aggravating for you to hear as you’re probably saying “dude, I have the mass, unlike those LMHRs!”)
I am happily in! After a near sugary-cookie binge yesterday I decided to start my fast early, and now almost 27 hours in the thought of those cookies makes me disgusted. I’m excited to go through the 18th with you all!
KCKO!
Haha, yes exactly. I’m doing aggressive fasting right now (2-4 day fasts with one day of feasting in between) in order to drive down my weight. I can’t do anything but cycling right now because I strained my hamstring, so I figure now is a good time…plus I’m in Cancun next week and pools open in Las Vegas in just a few weeks.
I am trying to listen to my body though, so I think I might try fasting just until I get that lethargic feeling, then refeeding with 1-2 meals and starting a new fast.
