For what it’s worth, “to adsorb” is a real word, and therefore not all that likely to be caught by most spell-checkers. Not only that, but “absorb” and “adsorb” are close enough in meaning to be confoundable in certain contexts. One wonders sometimes how the ancient Latins managed, with so many similar-sounding prepositions.

BTW, the guy who coined the term “inulin” ought to be shot.
