Carnivore/Zero Carb January 2017!

How are you cooking your brisket?

(Jodi) #42

I’ve already started. I’m eating meat, very little dairy (butter & hard cheese), coffee, eggs & lard/tallow. So far so good! I prefer mostly beef, some each bacon, chicken & fish.
I feel like I still have more inflammation issues than I should at this point with Keto, so I’m hoping I’ll see a reduction with ZC.

Im in! I have over ate through the holidays and gained 4 lbs. Stayed on plan just ate way too much lol. Thank you for doing this!

Loving all the posts, still. I’m fasting until the 8th, but enjoy the exchanges and food porn just the same. I also like how people are making it work for their individual needs/preferences.

I’m doing meat- beef, pork, chicken. Water. Butter. Heavy cream or cheese if needed. Spices. Some processed meats like breakfast sausage.

That’s pretty much it!

I’m eating one of these tonight for ringing in the New Year🎉. I have 2 bone broth batches stewing, and I’m eating beef, eggs, pork, chicken (preferential order), I may have some salami depending on my schedule craziness, occasional cheese, garlic now and then, coffee, and my goal is to use this time to increase my organ meat consumption.

Thank you for directing me here, I am grateful to have found this. I have been Keto adapted since May, and went ZC one eeek ago. The transition to ZC has been very easy for me. I spent this first week entering my food in a macro tracker, and was completely blown away that eating just meat ( with maybe one piece of cheese, one egg, and 4tbs of HWC in my 2 coffees per day) has magically calculated to perfect macros! I’m amazed at that simplicity, and trust that I will no longer have to “count” when eating ZC. I feel great and even lost 4 pounds after being at a short stall with my Keto lifestyle. Looking forward to finding more information here!!

I just slow roast mine in the oven for a few hours. Used to roast it with beer and onions and some sauces but I’m a plain Jane these days.

This was my old way too with beef broth! I now occasionally add a lower carb gluten-free beer and a few dry shallots because the shallots pack a taste wallop, but not during ZC . I’d best peel myself off of the forum and get a roast defrosting because my mouth is watering!

New Year’s eve and day are special in my household so I decided to deviate from my usual beef and eggs. This is day 4 for me and this just went down. Yes, I ate them both with half a stick of butter and some flaked sea salt. Happy New Year!

I’ve overused my likes today :laughing: so :blue_heart::green_heart::yellow_heart::purple_heart::heart:

Looking forward to ZC 1/17!
After a little too much of the “holiday cheer” I’m weighing in at 200.5 lbs! I just needed to post that for some motivation & accountability this month. Of course I’ll take any victory, scale or non-scale. Good luck all! :tada::tophat::boom::balloon::bacon::bacon::bacon::heart:

(chris.coote) #53

I had been tossing around the ZC for January on Facebook in a few comments. It would be my way to try to drop my last sweetener addiction. I’m in

(Kerri Hines) #54

Vegetables have that effect on me too. :disappointed_relieved:
I’ve been a slightly cheating carnivore since April. I do eat a small amount of veggies several times a week but I’m going to stop so I can actually feel great more consistently.

(gooeykablooey) #55

Excited to start today! Now to go bake a couple pounds of bacon

I’m in as well and very confident about it.
My first attempt at zerocarb was about 6 months ago and it got “boring” after a while.
This time however i am much more convinced about it theoretically and have also made more (mostly bad) experiences with plant foods. I have also started to eat a lot of raw meat in the last couple of months, which was quite exciting :grinning:
My favorite is definately raw ground beef/pork, ironically the one raw food most controversial. Rare steaks and fish are also great.

These forums look really good, well done :+1:

Today’s meal was lamb neck chops, should have taken a pic prior to cooking, so fatty. Rendered fat from these is in the jar for use later.

Officially ZC since Dec. 30th Last night I believe I had a bit of carb withdrawal. Huge headache. :hushed: I am eating ground beef (some raw), pork belly, bacon, ham, eggs and turkey. I don’t do dairy except for butter. I put that $#!/ on everything  I love how I feel so far. My gut is much more “quiet” I take magnesium citrate and drink salty water. I love that we have a place here to just “be” on the forum. Thanks to @richard and @carl for letting us Carnivore Warriors (not my term but love it) hang out here :hugs: and Thanks to @Brenda for the help starting ZC.

Welcome! I started ZC on 12/25. My gift to myself. So we are at about the same place. I was following LCHF Keto for awhile before this however. I did quite well with that, but felt like I wanted to see if I had continued health improvements with ZC. One thing I have certainly noticed in just the first week, is the simplicity. All stress and obsession about what to eat has been removed, giving me a real peaceful feeling. Between that and the disappearance of all cravings, it has been a really awesome week!

Hope it’s going well for everyone! The only thing that’s tempting me is diet soda, but I’m avoiding those!

In awesome news, the vlc/ZC transition I’ve been doing has broken my scale weight stall! I’m down two pounds! I’ve been hovering at the same weight for 2+ months.

I also feel great.
