Buddy up?

#1

Day one down. Anyone one to be a support/fasting buddy?
Had green tea, ginger tea, lots of water and salt today. Minor cravings, 2 mile walk. Off to a good start. Going until I crack, or my BP gets down to an acceptable level.

At the 26hr mark right now. Water fast only. Going to the 90hr mark. Going great so far but I always struggle on day 2. Usually good if I make that one.

#3

Nice I’m at 26 hours also. I’ll post and update tomorrow. Keep it up!

Just passed the 48 hour mark and it’s bedtime now. Goodnight all!

#5

@Cwolly, there’s a terrific monthly fasting thread on here that you could join. Someone will likely start an August one soon.
Good luck!

#6

Yeah I saw that. I figured since I already started I would just try to find a few people. Let me know if I’ve broken protocol

Way to go Knapper!

Day 2, about 38 hours in. Lost 2 pounds. I went to the bathroom twice during the night, so that certainly didn’t help my sleep. Feel pretty good this morning. My BS was up, but that is typical for me on day 2.

So far I’ve had salt, water, and some English black tea, nothing in it. It’s pretty easy for me to fast at work. When I get home to my teenagers and visiting family, that will be interesting. I may have to go for a loooong walk tonight.

Hour 58 now, woke up to extreme heartburn in which I never experience, and drank some black coffee with sea salt and it has subsided (thank goodness)! I weighed 4 pounds lighter this morning too.
@Cwolly You’re doing great! A walk sounds like a wonderful idea.

#10

I’ve actually had some heartburn from water when fasting, but I have a bad stomach. Glad yours got better quick. You are doing awesome!

#11

no, not at all! I just wanted to let you know that there’s an ongoing thread for folks experimenting with both IF and EF

#12

Thank you much, I will drop by!

Hi! First fast for me too, just under a month into keto. I’m at about 43 hours, going until I break!

#14

Noice, good work Dan. There is a big thread that started today in the Fasting section for the month of August. But we can buddy up here too! Keep up the good work!

I just went to a “staff appreciation” picnic, actually was chopping smoked chicken, and didn’t feel hungry. Yay!

(Dan S) #15

Thanks for the heads up! Glad the picnic didn’t bother you!

I’m working with a group of people on a long term work trip that don’t really bother with socialising much so I’m avoiding most of the temptation! I went for a walk around all the food courts just to look around and wasn’t bothered much either!

(Ron) #16

At the 42hr mark and going strong. Usually the second day is my toughest but hasn’t been a struggle today. Ketone levels are up to 4.2 and BG was 78 this morning. These numbers are the highest ketone AND lowest BG levels I have seen since going Keto (an nsv). It just keeps getting better. Loving this lifestyle!:joy:

#17

Nice, good work! Yeah I am surprised at how easy day 2 is going as well. I’ve been trying to keep active here at work. I would love to have that BG number

(Ron) #18

I am pretty excited to see it myself. Being a T2d with a BG average in the 160’s 8 months ago, this is astonishing to me. I was content 2 months ago when I was getting readings around 110 so this was an unexpected (was hoping to see 90"s) surprise.

edited to add - I am down 4 lbs this morning since starting this fast.

Was pretty tired when I got home so had a 20 minute nap. Then I watched my family eat my famous chili  while I had black coffee. Then a 1.2 mile walk with them. Day 2 in the bag.

I am going thru my typical dinner time now and I am definitely having a mental challenge. The gut is fine but the mind wants to eat. This is my battle as I have always been a psychological eater. Tuffing it out!:muscle::facepunch:
