August Fat Burnin'

I am jealous of your numbers. I find the rise in sugar after eating that is way beyond the amount of carbs eaten to be so puzzling. It has to be glucose the liver kicks out, so that makes me think it’s the other hormones (glucagon and amylin) over and under performing, respectively. I do wonder about cortisol as well. I am worried that one of these days someone is going to tell me I should give up caffeine. I sure love my coffee and occasional diet soda (and Berocca on fasting days). But it could be increasing that stress response. That and my four kids.

Four kids, enough said!

Irishred you are too funny!

The W/H ratio is cumbersome in such situations, no doubt, but who can afford the dexascan or other tests? Well, not I. I say just keep seeing how the fit of your clothes changes, that is another great indicator and not nearly as devious as the scale either!

It’s Friday! How are all of you doing? I am aiming for 24 hours fasted with a supper of steak and broccoli with lots of butter tonight. Feeling good about the week and bg continuing to creep back down. Life is good.

(Doug) #105

I’ve screwed around a lot this week and now have to scramble to get some stuff done today.

(Sonia A.) #106

I’m 43 hours into my fast and I feel fine. If everything goes as planned, I’ll break my fast on Monday. We’ll see.

(Jeremy Storie) #107

Still on the egg fast. Planning on doing it until tomorrow evening.

(Ethan) #108

Ive been on my first 48h fast (after my first 24h fast earlier this week). It’s been a cinch! I had my lowest morning blood sugars (80s fasting with only a peak at 102) and even just had a blood ketone reading of 4.3. Before this fast, I hadn’t gotten above 2.9 before!

I have decided to do two 3-day fasts a month from now on.

#109

I’m doing a 20-hour fast today after taking a two-week break from my 3x a week IF routine. I also accidentally had some carbs a couple days ago that threw me out of ketosis, so I’m ready to get back in!

Fasting feels like a very good thing to do today.

#110

How’s it going? Thinking of egg fasting over the weekend.

(Doug) #111

Nice, Ethan. I know it’s not this way for everybody, but I’ve also found fasting to be easier and better than expected. Those blood sugar numbers: now that’s a good feeling.

(Jeremy Storie) #112

It’s going good. I lost 6 pounds on my water fast and going straight into the egg fast I haven’t lost any more but I’ve held steady and not had the ā€œbounce backā€ that usually comes after a water fast. I love eggs so an egg fast is a breeze for me

#113

Cool! I will start tomorrow. I just made a huge batch of small soufflĆ©s anyway, so I’m set!

(Jeremy Storie) #114

My go to is scrambled in bacon nectar

#115

Actually, I was thinking of an egg and bacon fast anyway, ha ha.

(Doug) #116

Sounds good!
I started my 46ish hour fast last night around 1830 and today I’ve been buzzing around the house with energy I haven’t had in a long, long time!
I knew I needed to get some cleaning done, and once I strated…cleaning out closets, getting rid of unwanted clothes, clean bathroom, dust, wash floors, vacuum, laundry, dishes…I went wild!
Ketone energy perhaps?
Best with your fasting and the yummy steak, broccoli and BUTTER!

#119

I love the three day fasts, as long as I can fit them in socially. Once I get into day three, I feel like fasting for more!

#120

Sonia, I hope you have a great weekend fasting!
