Another Carnivore Thread

I couldn’t watch anymore, I wanted to prepare all those wonderful dishes and cakes and I couldn’t…I just had to stop torturing myself.

The world isn’t fair, I tell ya, some people got the good-working body.
I used to love Top Chef and Padma always said she gained weight after each season.

LOL
Yup!

Wow. that is a ton of kitchen gear. It is sad when we know we won’t be using things like that again and all the money we spent on stuff and the ‘fun’ of it all being gone.

But the old saying…life changes and we adapt and all that comes into play. For all of us that love the kitchen and being a foodie, we find new and exciting ways to keep us busy.

I owned horses my whole life. Rode every single day. My bestie and I would trailer out to state forests and ride and ride all the time. When we closed down the farm eventually in the end I had only my 1 beloved riding horse left. At 22 she got colic and I had to put her down. It was just a horrible situation. So I was horseless and my friend actually then had a bad fall from her new horse she got and broke her hip and pelvis. So she was laid up. At that point near 40 yrs of owning horses she and I said we were done at the same time. No more horeses……so we took up other things. I swim, kayak, hike and we hike together and do just other things together. But it is never the same not riding ya know. I felt so lost without a horse…but I filled up life with other things.

long type on that one LOL but when something is a big part of your life and identity it is hard when it is just gone.

Don’t panic. Sell the big gadgets and stock the freezer with great meats  LOL

TOO FUNNY~
yea I can’t do salt water. I just keep throwing it on the beef. I know alot of people just shake some in their hand and lick it up  might be worth a try LOL

Yea that was a good one. I also like Beat Bobby Flay. I tell ya there are some fab shows on food network!!

Love that SHIRT!!!

(Edith) #705

How are you feeling?

(traci simpson) #706

Hi,
Much better. I think it’s the grease in ground beef. I think I’ll stay away from the fatty GB from now on.

(Daisy) #707

Thanks @Fangs for the link. Interesting information there

@Regina I eat when I’m hungry, which is usually 2-3 meals a day. My ketones have measured between .4 and .9 the 4 times I’ve tested. I do have some medical/health issues I’m trying to heal. Raynauds, skin issues, mental health, etc. then weight/fat loss are my other goals.

(traci simpson) #708

Redman’s Real Salt Sea salt, sells salt rocks.

Say that three times fast!!! bahahahahaha!

(Edith) #709

I’m glad you figured it out.

(traci simpson) #710

I’m hoping that’s the problem. If not, whatever it was is gone.

#711

Here’s where I got it if you want one.

(traci simpson) #712

Thanks! those are pretty cute.

My daughter loves to help in the kitchen. Tonight I’m making them pork chops and she wanted to spice hers.
I know that carnivore has really altered my tastes but apparently my sense of smell, too. Cumin used to be one of my favorite cooking spices… now the smell is bleh!

(Davy) #714

I’m from Ky too. First and last time I ever went, my friend and I drove to FL…as soon as we got there and stopped, he stepped out of the car and threw up.

  1. What’s the longest anyone has been on this Carnivore Diet?
  2. What was/is the ave. life expectancy of Inuits and Masii?
    just asking…

HI DavyKO

I am carnivore about 2.5 yrs now. As a hardcore one.

I was lc, to extreme lc which was never over 10g total carbs per day from other sources other than meat/dairy…like I would eat one mini candy bar if I wanted LOL

so I was back and forth about 2 yrs before that…in and out of carnivore til I decided after ALL that time carnivore was the only way I got great benefits, best I ever felt in my life, corrected all body situations etc. and I realized the science behind it was in truth. Not myth. And then I learned from those way past me. 10-15-20 yrs carnivore on other sites. Learned the more in depth reasoning behind it.

I do have time ‘here’ in this world…whether all in or all out. Now the last legs I am all in these last years. But with a challenge Cheryl started, I cleaned up my Dirty Carnivore days and I appreciate her challenge big time cause it gave me focus again. Tight to carnivore. I feel so darn good it is scary some days HAHA

I have to say asking about life expentancy of a group on humans in ‘whatever sitatuation’ from long ago won’t cut it. Medical interventions as they came into society meant a lot. Penicillin and more meant survival rates increased whereas isolated tribes couldn’t get their hands on meds as quickly as mass populated areas.

So NOW what is the expectancy…like all other humans mostly in that with access to modern survival like hospitals and more they are no different than any of us in our locations at this point cause also, although all people will never be on the exact same lifestyle NOW in modern age, modern age of junk food and good medicine has hit mostly everywhere.

So…kinda a catch 22 in answers on #2 for me

(Davy) #716

So @Fangs , you feel better on clean Carnivore than you did on Keto with 10g ?!!? Hmmmm, must be something to this then.
Anyway, way to go!
I’m still eyeballing this Carnivore WOE. :grimacing:

#717

That’s interesting, Bob. Are you using any spices during your carnivore journey? I love cumin too but for now I’m not using any spices while doing the PKD form of carnivore. I wonder if a long time carnivore ends up not desiring the spices or perhaps finds that if they use them they can use a lot less than they did previously?

#718

I haven’t been adding any spices to what I make for myself. I do eat some things that have spices, though, just not much. For example I’ve got some liverwurst from US Wellness Meats.

  1. I don’t do carnivore and have no idea.
  2. I also don’t know

(Jack Bennett) #720

Probably someone to look up as a modern American who ate carnivore is Owsley “The Bear” Stanley. I don’t know how many years he did it but it was, as far as I know, at least a couple of decades.

Amber O’Hearn is over 10 years and still going.
