I dont understand. You dont have to kill the cow to make butter?
All Animal August---Triple A
Ah, yes, true, good point. I will now change my argument to oil is cheaper. Lol.
Not a good sleep last night , it was a little warm through the night and thankfully tonight is supposed to be cooler.
Up early in readiness for the garage picking up my car for a service and MOT. Then went back to bed for another hour lol. Must have needed it … thats what I say anyway! Did the stair runs during the ads on the TV during the morning g programme 8 like to watch. Been a while since I have run them like this but just felt 8 should listen to my body today. I always feel under par when I have had to get up so early for work the previous day. When I retire I will not miss getting up at silly o’clock in the wee hours!
Had a nice thick sirloin steak 2 eggs and bacon for brunch. The bacon not as nice as the economy bacon i was eating previously. I know which I need to buy now. This one was a bit chewy and not half enough fat.
Spent the day shooing out more flies! Every time I thought I had got rid of the last ones … more appeared! Argggh. Oh well shouldn’t be long before they all die as they are quite slow.
In between clearing out the flies I cleared out a couple of drawers of clothes I never wear. No more I might wear this I might wear that… it has got to go! Felt good after doing that and must start on the wardrobe next. Far too many clothes I don’t wear that o bought for dancing.
Later in the day I had some cheese, some chorizo and have just had a tin of tuna with a bit of mayo mixed in.
I usually prefer warm roasts myself and eat more of that but a nice fatty cold piece is lovely too when it’s just one course of a multi-course meal.
Chicken is special, it doesn’t matter if it’s warm or cold, I could eat 10 thighs either way (if the chicken is some tasty home-raised)…
And now I start to get hungry… It seems the lunch wasn’t enough. No wonder as I had only lunch yesterday too… Maybe I eat some broth with goose meat soon.
No but you need to kill the bulls to make butter, basically… BUT mass killing male animals is totally vegetarian until you don’t eat them, apparently.
Egg industry kills zillion roosters, milk industry kills zillion bulls, things are like that. And animal cruelty, ew.
When I was a vegetarian, I never thought I am a saint or something. I wouldn’t even feel that as a vegan. It’s still mass killing animals. Not the same but some vegans seriously act like only animal food would anything do to animals and the planet.
I wish us ketonians, all the «normal» people, and the plant-based crowd could get together and work towards ensuring animal-welfare on all levels. Without hindering us from eating them after their dead.
I read back…
Yay tiny eggs…
It doesn’t matter to me. Added fat is not satiating to me, no matter what kind… But I can imagine animal fat works better for many people… And clearly better tasting. Are there any tasty plant fats at all…? Maybe walnut oil? Never ate any, it’s super expensive and I just ate walnuts
The weather is nice now! Well okay, it was gloomy and rainy but the temperature! Below 21C/70F all day? In August? Awesome! I actually can handle a tad more but it’s great we can cool down the house
I didn’t keep the windows open only because it’s super humid outside… Though it isn’t such a big a problem when the air is cool… The house humidity is high anyway… But it’s still better to do it at dawn and in my room at night.
People! I had no coffee until 2pm despite being awake at normal time. I am impressed. Well I barely have any coffee and drank tee but still Progress.
I went back to eat lunch without a good reason… Well I fancied some food, I just felt zero need for it… And I enjoyed my meal. I didn’t want much meat so I barely had a few bites but ate 8 eggs especially deviled eggs with salmon spread and cheesy biscuits. It’s still not fully crunchy but it will be perfect eventually. The taste was very good and I didn’t even particularly feel the cheese (it’s a positive thing, I don’t really want cheesy things, neutral is better. neutral but tasty). I used some spice. And when it wasn’t crunchy at all (the first pieces. I put them back to the oven so they got better), it was still nice - and resembling hashbrown… Except the basic taste… probably the texture, the shape of the grated cheese and the spices… Whatever, it was nice, I always cat eat it even if I am bored of my other egg dishes.
Tomorrow I should be fine with more meat again. I have goose necks in my soup ~ And pork roast. And more salmon spread. Even leftover deviled eggs. Yay. I lack processed meat now but that’s fine.
I don’t eat at night anymore (or not much. last night I tasted my fresh soup before I put it into the freezer. yum) Finally.
Yeah, that would be nice. I love animals. I love myself, my body, my health even better…
I hate most animal experiments too
And filling the planet with garbage. Huge food waste. And so on.
I’ve been researching tonight and this is definitely one at the top of my list. I think that’s possibly even better than just a straight air fryer - that I could grill 3-4 steaks at once (I tend to do 8-10 during a cooking session).
How do you find the clean up of it? I am very very tempted.
Today was my fat refeeding day and I ate way too much! I was hungry, hungry, hungry, then overly full but everything was delicious! Egg yolk omelette, lamb chops, porterhouse and salmon skin, and crispy chuck roast
@Karen18
I have a certain bacon I only love also when I buy a diff pack for whatever reason I find fault with it most times LOL I am such a picky carnivore HA
@Ketodaisy
beauty pics!!!
Hope your way of eating is fitting you well and suits you! You feeling good on your pattern now? Hope so!
--------------------------August is going great for me with ease on plan cause of making etc food and leaving in fridge. I am finding being prepared is great, just having meat available, but darn, having it cooked and ready to go IS EVEN better.
I could not have done this earlier in carnivore, I liked fresh hot food each meal but as I progressed thru the years, I am ALL into reheating some stuff and eating cold meat now so…yes this is working out very well for me!
pork from fridge
can of tuna
small ribeye steak
today is pork chops, last of my leftover pork and I am batch cooking up plain ol’ burgers, and will slightly reheat with melty cheese on them when I want them…plus hoping to hit some meat sales and see what else I can batch cook…waiting on chuck roast to go on good sale then I will load up with that…but until a sale…nope, being watchful on meat/seafood prices I did cook a bunch of shrimp yesterday but wasn’t in the mood for them but I will eat some today with my meal I am sure…batch cook peel/eat shrimp is a good thing too!
rock it out carnivores!

Just a fast great reason WHY carnivore lifestyle works and I love #10, the final one
gonna post it in ZC videos also so it shows up in ‘our ZC library’
Yeah, this was my first week back on a regimen. My plan is going to be 3 lean days, 2 psmf days, and 2 refeeding days. Plus 5 days of exercise. The psmf days will immediately follow the refeed days. Then lean days on the other 3. Sunday: refeed. Monday: psmf. Ties/wed: lean. Thursday: refeed. Friday: psmf. Saturday: lean. Exercise m-f.
That would be nice, but sadly the plant-based crowd is using misinformation to push their agenda, such as the oft repeated, and wrong, idea that global warming is mostly caused by animal farming, and ignoring the fact that plants, especially grains, are grown all over the world and then transported to your cupboard, whereas meat usually is locally grown. So the whole concept that plant-based diets are greener than meat-based ones is bollocks.
Personally, I buy all my meat from organic and regenerative farms, which is incredibly expensive than supermarket meat, but thankfully I can afford it and it’s a small but worth sacrifice to avoid giving money to the big and inhumane farming conglomerates.
@Septimius I like it its easy to clean just empty grease wipe it out with paper towel and throw in the dishwasher all parts pull out…but what I did was buy two inside bits so one is always clean if one is in dishwasher… although I have noticed one rack is starting to peel a slight bit…but for the amount I use it every day and usually twice a day I’ll just replace it…
Is it good for bacon? Its so messy with the greasesplatters up the wall when i cook it on the stove.
Ah yes, that’s an excellent idea - I am a subscriber to the idea of having multiples (one in the dishwasher, one out). I will remember to do that when I make my purchase!
I prefer my bacon done in it actually… admittedly I can do more on an oven rack but it cooks 5 slices at a time and that’s enough my oven takes 30 mins I can have it out in 10…so maybe if I used the 30 mins I could have just as much…
