Today I had all the delicious foods! Breakfast was an egg yolk omelette with bacon and some charcuterie that I had brought home from my work event the other day. That kept me full until dinner, when I had 2 lamb chuck chops. I was still hungry, so I grabbed a frozen New York strip from the freezer and threw it in the air fryer for about 11 minutes. Super delicious and I feel nice and refreshed!

Here is my meal as I just bought some burgers at my job.

4 bacon
4 eggs
2 PC prime rib burgers (0 carbs and for ingredients it’s beef, water, salt, seasonings)
a tin of sardines (Brunswick sardines)

As well as my beef liver pills from antler farms of course. Take them daily.

I can’t even try that as with lean stuff (or fatty chicken as that doesn’t work either) I am simply hungry… And anyway, I only have enough energy for a workout in a very well-fasted state. Or the mood. I just can’t do my workout if I eat before.

I started to plan a leaner day, I have a few item that I can use but it probably won’t work as I can’t eat enough calories that way… But I try to find my limits. I had a low-fat keto day before, after all. Once but it’s still significant.

(I had 170+ g fat today. It would be nice to have much fat one day but I try not to think about that, even this level is a tad high for me and it’s actually enough… I got hungry for the 3rd time because my 2nd was super tiny. And the not satiating dairy… Sigh. I didn’t want much stew in the end and I always have a harder time with less meat but it can’t be helped.)

But one can’t eat them on carnivore as it’s not carnivore… It’s very simple… Vegetarians can’t eat fish or seafood or chicken either as it’s not vegetarian per definition. It’s just like that.

Quite funny and sometimes annoying that people can’t even decide what “animal” mean. Honey is a bit hybrid (almost completely plant but there is some animal factor) but fruits? Seriously?
Ah let’s forget about those circles, it would just stop my less determined brain cells and they are melted now and it’s quite detrimental to their morals.

I also had four eggs n bacon for breakfast.

Looking back, I think ive never provided my body close to enough protein. Now body, here it comes!

Cant wait to see how it feels after 30 days.

And just a question: beefburgers from minced meat, isnt it dangerous to not cook it through?
…its what ive learned, but they are so much better a little pink inside…

As long as it’s well sourced, you’re perfectly safe to cook it less. The burger I get from my butcher I sometimes eat raw! But definitely rare/medium rare. Store bought burger, I cook at least to medium.

oh that was very interesting about the smell being ramped up higher cause you are already into an inbalance that could bring on a migraine…I didn’t know that so it isn’t the smell, if smell is that in your face then you are already on the brink of a bad way…very interesting on that!

I sure got fingers crossed you can overcome in some way for sure, and if you go 6 mos. without migraines I am sure you will be just jumping for joy and very interesting about the salt and electrolyte inbalances etc…wishing you the best on it all.

Remember one thing guys…WE ARE ALL at different timelines on carnivore. What needs to happen for one person will never ever totally never be what another needs at that time. Our TIME on plan dictates our moves on carnivore and our personal bodies with medical issues and life as we lead it comes into play, and again extremely personal.

So key is finding a sweet spot that works for you at all time and never against you but you feel any very small changes you make in your eating keeps you feeling satisfied, energized and healthy and is sustainable long term.

I am carnivore 4 yrs now. I never gained except those darn 10 lbs when I first started, but lost those fast and went on to lose 50 lbs basically and then I stalled…stagnated…never gained, ever again but I never lost anything either. I didn’t even lean out more inch by inch----I just stayed the same for years. NOW I am watching more and more my fat intake and always noticed that when I naturally ate leaner and lighter days I could drop a lb. and feel good doing it, I would then eat bigger fatty meals and never gain that lb. back…painfully slow on losing LOL but I am fine with that…my last darn 15 lbs I would love gone off me are taking forever to go away, but hey, I am fine with that but I am also now watching fat intake a bit.

See…think of it this way…carnivore is meant to be FRESH meat and seafood, fish or fowl. It isn’t meant truly to be man made bacon, man made cheese, man made deli meat type stuff or even beef sticks that are easy to grab and eat. It truly is meant to be just meat from animals and not be loaded down with butter when cooking etc.

Your brain has to think…hunted! No one is hunting packages of bacon out in the woods. There is no cheese to be shot out there. There is no beef sticks hanging on a tree for picking LOL

So alot of times carnivores can fall prey to not losing, and maybe gaining when they unbalance themselves and never know they are doing it…you eat, feel great, love your food, are doing well but the body weight is not responding to lose, or it is gaining some so then we have to truly think…‘realness in life’ and ‘what is carnivore’ and how can we be effecting it wrong in a way with our food options.

At some point alot of carnivores can have an issue, but the key to correcting it personally for each of us is to do any changes very slow and very small.

Like for me, I know when I want to eat a leaner day of food I hit up chicken and tuna kinda things and don’t use alot of butter and just lean down my eating day but it is because my body tells me to do that…and I also see results after being in that leaner eating cycle…yea I eventually lose a lb or so :slight_smile: but I also follow when the body says eat fat and I do!

So key to it all, if you are longer on plan and need some changes, cutting your fat a little…a little in 1 meal per day to start is a good way to go…a lean meal and a fatty meal…balance. Lay off any ‘convenience carnivore meats’ out there which alot of us love and adore LOL but make them a small addition to your life, not a focus ya know…like I make bacon I eat a lb…lately I have been making only 6 or 8 slices from the package and voluntarily opting out of eating the whole package…I do well like that, feel wonderful, had my bacon but I also didn’t needlessly hound down a lb. of bacon like I used to do…I feel no side effects from eating a bit less bacon :slight_smile: it makes me happy to have it, enjoy it but I have no limited it in my life. BUT I am also 4 yrs into carnivore and I know I feel ok doing this…when new to carnivore I could eat a lb. of bacon a day and lose weight…now, nope LOL

So remember everyone to eat as your body tells you to eat.
If it wants leaner for a meal, have it. If it wants fatty for a meal eat that and never question that internal nudge to hit the right meal for your best optimum day for your personal journey and time on carnivore.

Like dairy. I can eat some cheese without issue. I ate a ton of cheese starting on carnivore and did well…now 4 years later I barely eat cheese. I put it on a burger when I have one and after that, I never eat cheese in my meals. I even dropped my sauces, like I never make my alfredo sauce anymore cause I don’t want it. It was a natural drop from my eating as was dropping most of my cheese intake.

So when you see my food for instance being written for the day and I ate only some chicken and tuna and done deal…another will think OMG that is NOT enough but for my body and day it was…but for another person it wouldn’t be at all so we can’t ‘compare too tightly’ our food intake with another and their time on this lifestyle.

I do love chatting this stuff out :slight_smile: Best thing to do is chat stuff out and we all find some good info to mull over and consider and all that jazz :slight_smile:

food yesterday was

4 cheeseburger patties from fast food joint—ugh
tin of sardines

So my day was all over the place yesterday. I woofed down burgers from a fast food joint on the road around 1pm and that was it…I was a tad hungry for dinner but ‘still ramped up and wired’ from the BS I had going down and had to handle and thought, screw dinner, I just don’t want it so I just had a tin of sardines and it covered me.

I wanted to eat well yesterday too LOL but darn it didn’t happen but I tell ya, today I am gonna eat…I am hungry, not a doubt about that.

today is 1lb. pork tenderloin mini roast for first meal.
dinner is that Tbone steak I shoulda ate yesterday and will eat that down with some peel/eat shrimp on the side.

I dropped 1/2 lb. on the scale…WEE which is nice to always just see a new low keep happening ever ever so slowly :slight_smile:

Hold strong carnivores and always work your food for you personally, how you feel, what you need…cause we are all at different times on this journey and will require different needs for each of us :sunny:, which is the way it should be!!

Haha that’s one thing I definitely notice with lower fat. It doesn’t feel like it did when I was hypoglycemic, but I do get that “FEED ME NOW!” feeling :joy:

yes it is a sure sign isn’t it but it also ‘feels good’ too in a way…knows you body is showing some real truths and feeling real life…nice to have that off crappy carby junk food I used to eat :slight_smile:

oh my good so good!! But I could only hound down 3/4 of it…rest in fridge to eat later. SO early for me to eat but darn I did good and feel wonderful now :sunny: Now for a few bottles of water to chase it all HA

I can eat a good amount sometimes, and have gotten a real stuffed feeling a couple of times, but i havent hated myself after a meal….

beauty of carnivore, we are allowed to eat :slight_smile: makes a difference from a ‘very controlled kcal’ intake diet that sucks rocks!!

rare for me to ‘get stuffed’ on meat ya know in that it isn’t the same. I get super full but not like the old days of being stuffed like a turkey and feeling icky and sicky after a massive carby feast. Don’t miss that nasty bloaty carby gut at all, I can sure tell ya that HA

Empty… I don’t really know that. I know well-fasted perfect satiation (if I focus very well, maybe sometimes I feel my stomach is empty, it’s a neutral feeling and maybe I just know it must be empty after 20+ hours :smiley: but I always ignore my stomach unless it’s full but that’s about 2 liters so I rarely meet that stuffed state) and after a while I feel hunger that’s hard to describe and it has various versions.

I have such an unfortunate pattern now. I get hungry around my old, too early time, 3pm. And I eat 1400 kcal or something, it’s kind of enough. And then I get hungry later, 1-2 hours or 3 (normal) or 6-8… And I need a not small meal again, usually. Not good. Not even fully convenient. I would go for OMAD but my body refuses. We will see, I eat little meat lately again, I just don’t want it and my body and mind is against force-feeding.
It’s good I always can eat pancakes.

It’s not that bad, 2-3 meals a day, almost never way before 3pm, it’s something. And I don’t put random carbs into my day out of desperation either (it wouldn’t help a thing anyway).
I will have better times.
I think my super low appetite is the problem and I primarily blame the heat.
Normal (well quite abnormal from my viewpoint) people have no appetite and they barely eat on hot days. My body still needs food (isn’t everyone’s…? fine, not each and every day. mine is stubborn and like stability) so I eat a decent amount of food or more - just without appetite and it’s not so great.
I think I need to raise variety and not with processed stuff and dairy. I don’t even have some proper turkey now, just some thigh filet but that’s for Alvaro to make curry from (with a ton of vegetables, of course)… I try to buy some wings or something.

Too bad I can’t try lean days, even birds are quite fatty… Maybe I could take off the skin (obviously I would eat it later, I don’t waste food let alone a thing that may be converted into something CRUNCHY!)…? I have tuna but I doubt I could eat more than 40-50g a day and I must mix it with a lot of fatty stuff to make it enjoyable… BUT then I can use boiled egg whites galore so that’s not a bad idea.
I will need some lean pork (like thigh) for lean days but I only have chuck and shoulders now. Very fine cuts and very much not lean ones, just what I like :smiley: But I do like leaner pork as well just not as roast or stew. I never made anything of it that I could eat in bigger amounts… But such things surely exist, I have ideas. Like my “ground it, mix it with eggs and fry it” default method for any meat not fatty or tasty enough. But I don’t know if I could eat a proper amount of that. I only could pull of a pound of meat a day because I used some tempting fatty roast on most days.

But it’s a problem for the future, now I focus on my fatty meat (and eggs. try to figure out what ratio my appetite-less body can handle).
Oh today I ate eggs, fried chicken liver, leftover stew, more eggs and that’s it. Cream and sour cream was included because I can’t skip that now. Tiny cheese and quark too. My second meal will be very similar.

Coffee addiction/custom fights back but it’s not as strong as it was for too long. But I need time…

I have carbonated water again and it’s so great especially that our tap water isn’t clear right now and of course I can drink it (it’s not bad tasting just not clean and clear) but it’s not that tempting. And I missed my bubbles :smiley:
But I drink big amounts of tap water too, it’s too hot and I am a very thirsty type. And tea. But coffee still finds their usual lil ways into my poor life. But I start to wonder WHY I drink it, it’s makes so little sense.

Alvaro eats even more fruits than usual as we have a lot now. I pressure can some of them, feeling exactly zero desire towards them but well, I tasted them a tiny bit already (because they are there and mine and juicy and nice) so the proud gardener and fruit admirer inner self is very content. I truly don’t want them at all. Odd but after all the experiences on carnviore(-ish), not very surprising.
In my eating my desires and enjoyment are extremely important and they drastically changed and I barely get tempted, it’s pointless to eat something I don’t want and can’t enjoy. The taste is the same but it’s not that important all alone.

But I desire juicy things, no matter how much I drink (at least if they are around. they are because Alvaro buys them).
I think I should make soup again. Something better than the usual boring fowl soup.

I have no problem with wanting carbs, I have problems with being hungry and not wanting normal food sometimes. It’s good there is so many very low-carb options so even if I stray, I can easily stick to extreme low net carbs and that seems to be the really important thing for me.
I am still unpleased when my educated guesses and kind of decisions about my Ideal Woe and my reality clash but what can I do now? I am hoping for a wonderful autumn, all my habits and knowledge and changes - and no heat so hopefully a better appetite…

Oh I don’t workout on food. I always do workouts first thing in the morning and then eat a brunch, which is my first meal of the day, when I get home, usually between 1130am and 1.30pm . What i meant was that it is the food I eat the day before that needs to be fatty to fuel my energy. If I ate chicken for my main meal the previous day i would have zero energy for the next mornings workout… big difference if I eat beef the night before… bags of energy.

I suppose I should introduce myself. Ive lurked so long I actually forgot I had made an account.
I started carnivore July 2019. Lost 60 pounds. Then stalled at month 6. Introducing exercising didn’t help, and introducing extending fasting was not a good decision. Maintained for about a year then started to creep up. The last 6 months I’ve gotten slack and have been more meat-based than actually carnivore, if that makes sense.

I’ve decided to get more strict and also invest in cooking better quality meats at home, instead of buying on the go. (I hate cooking, that’s part of why I was drawn to carnivore).

More about my labs, benefits, and things that weren’t so successful at another time.

Wow I woke up, wide awake at 4.33am (alarm was set for 4.45am) ni hanging about, straight out of bed. Crazy crazy dreams all night but strangely enough I felt I had had a fairly good sleep. Straight on to stair running and bath and off to work. Worked in the busy reception this morning, 38 out to courts, transfers and releases and 2 transfers in from another prison. Numbers are getting back to how they were pre pandemic. Finished at 1230 and afternoon off Yay!

Before eaving work, about 11am, i had a packet of 5 beef topside slices to tied me over till i got home as I wasn’t going straight home. By the time I got home at 4.15pm I was pretty hungry, rarely do I get quite so hungry so I cooked up a rump steak 2 eggs and bacon.

F9llowed dinner with some cheese and chorizo.

In work all weekend so will no doubt struggle to keep up with everyone’s posts again.

Well plans never work for me if I get hungry I eat so my one meal yesterday did not happen at 8.30 I got hungry so I ate some protein. Bread and half of a rib eye steak…

Todays first Meal protein bread and other half of my steak…
And so far not hungry yet but have another rib eye so I’m set…
I will try that Fangs . the only processed meat I eat are the sausages and bacon but it had been a few weeks for either I was tending to eat just my flanken ribs but I was wondering if I don’t need them as often…
I’m just trying to find what I can eat that doesn’t leave me hungry and so I can forget about food again…

Today was a psmf day, but a little higher calorie than it was supposed to be lol. Breakfast was a mostly egg white omelette with chicken breast. Lunch was shrimp and psmf toast, and dinner was tenderloin filets. I also want to specify that I’m only sharing my macros for data. I am doing a very specific program after 4 years on keto/carnivore and no one should try to copy what I do. Find what works for you!
