40% fat cream?

#1

Where can I buy 40%fat cream? I’ve looked at safeway, whole foods and local grocery stores, but can only find ~35%fat cream :frowning:

Europe. Also maybe Australia.

#3

Yes! So yummy. I Google and saw that Borden and Darigold have 40% cream but I’m not sure where to get those brands…

#4

When I lived in Wisconsin there was a Borden brand. Not sure if the brand is available anywhere else.

#5

I found Darigold 40% at my local Costco. They might have it near you. https://www.costcobusinessdelivery.com/Darigold-Heavy-Whipping-Cream%2C-64-oz.product.11064751.html

Costco. Darigold brand. Awesome!

#7

Yep! I’ve got a 55% pot in the fridge now, just from the local supermarket. :yum:

#8

Yum! <3

Not in Costco in dc area

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #10

Find and support a local creamery. If they sell milk products other than ice cream, that is, lol!

I shop mostly at Woolworths because they have better quality dairy products. The cream I buy is Meander Valley Dairy Double Cream. The milk fat content is >56%. It is so thick, sometimes it looks like butter. Yum.

The link below shows you what the container looks like.

I’m located in Melbourne, Australia.

I get the Darigold 40% cream at Costco and at Smart Foodservice Warehouse (formerly Cash ‘N Carry) here in Salt Lake City, Utah.

(Frank) #13

Stupid question. Where do you see the percentage on your cream?

#14

Well, in Australia it’s set out clearly with the ingredients and nutritional information:

(Frank) #15

Well look at that. I have no such indicator on my carton.

#16

Boo! How unhelpful. (Sorry, it’s too late at night here for me to have sufficient brainpower to pull out the calculator and help work out the percentages on that one…) :weary:

#17

my maths says 33.33% fat

#18

Most countries in Europe and Australia makes it easy for you, always by 100g or mL, no serving sizes!
It tells you there’s 5g of fat in 15mL, then you can calculate the %, if you figure out how much fat is in the cream per 100mL (=%)
100/15= 6.666
6.666x5g=33.3g fat per 100 mL or 33.3%

#19

Looks like a to-go coffee cup!
Yum!

Here’s the Darigold label
