Day 16 - Seafood

Again feeling very good and energetic with even energy all day long.

Daily Stats:

  1. How does gut feel? Great! No discomfort.
  2. Hunger level? Not hungry at all…but, tonight I went to a karaoke bar with friends and had a glass of wine :stuck_out_tongue: I know it’s a no no…but, I’ve been in food jail for a while so I’m not feeling too guilty about it.
  3. Mood? Awesome
  4. Energy level? Pretty good!
  5. Sleep? Good deep sleep.
  6. Delta weight since start = +2.4 lbs

Today I didn’t prepare any food…I had plenty of seafood leftovers in the fridge

I typically don’t reheat seafood. Either I eat it cold, or blend with mayo and other stuff (mustard, herbs, etc) to make a salad. Seafood only takes a few minutes to cook when it’s fresh, so the reheat process can easily overcook the protein.

I’m feeling ok after the glass of wine. I noticed that with keto, I can’t drink as much alcohol anymore (or maybe it’s because I’m getting old, who knows). So, I know my limit is one glass wine and that’s it. Also, luckily the wines made in BC are dry. So, at the bar or restaurant, I just order a good quality BC wine and know from a keto standpoint that I should be ok. I don’t drink often either. On a night out with friends once in a while, it’s a treat.

Day 17 - Lamb

Still feeling good and energetic with even energy all day long. A tad bit tired waking up this morning, but that’s because I went out last night with friends and got home late. Was fine after coffee!

Daily Stats:

  1. How does gut feel? Great! No discomfort.
  2. Hunger level? Not hungry at all…but, I did look forward to change of protein. Today is first day of lamb. Drove about 45 minutes to one of my favorite butchers for nice rack of lamb! It was worth the quality!
  3. Mood? Upbeat, optimistic
  4. Energy level? Pretty good!
  5. Sleep? Good deep sleep.
  6. Delta weight since start = +2.8 lbs (so far the wine last night didn’t make that much of an effect…but, it will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow with my weight…usually takes longer to see the impact)

Today I made rack of lamb with lemon, Dijon and thyme

Day 18 - Lamb

Feeling good and energetic with even energy all day long.

  1. How does gut feel? Great! No discomfort.
  2. Hunger level? Not hungry at all. I only start getting hungry when I prepare food. Otherwise, I could be fasting.
  3. Mood? Upbeat, optimistic
  4. Energy level? Pretty good!
  5. Sleep? Good deep sleep.
  6. Delta weight since start = +2.2 lbs (so, it looks like the wine I had 2 nights ago did not negatively affect me)

Today, I had ground lamb brochettes with mint and thyme.

Ok, another day of feeling good and energetic.

  2. Hunger level? Not hungry at all. Basically forcing myself to eat. I’d rather be fasting.

  4. Energy level? Pretty good!
  5. Sleep? Good deep sleep.

Today I had herbed lamb shank.

Oh yes. It was very filling to eat just one. And with a couple tablespoons of lard. The leg weighed almost 500 g (with bone), so plenty of protein.

Again, I really looked forward to a change in protein. The next protein choices here on forward will start to get into more allergic type foods. I don’t have any allergies that I know of. However, It will be interesting to see if I react to any if them.

Today I made Chicken Nut-Oodle Soup

It was made with pine nuts (pretty low carb) but luckily they were floaties, so was able to avoid them for scooping up a nut-free soup serving

I contemplated calling the recipe “chicken nuts soup” or “chicken nut sack soup”, just to see what sort of response I’d get from @MableSyrup. I’m sure I will still get some cheeky, provocative quip from that gal anyway :smirk:
